YHC was glad to see such a large group converge on Uptown Greenwood. After some not so subtle HCs delivered the night before, YHC was hoping for at least a dozen PAX to join him. As time grew closer to 0515 PAX kept showing until 20 were off and running….or walking….or rucking.
Conditions: Mild….50 degrees and clear
The Thang:
Most ran, a few walked, and 2 rucked through the streets lit up for Christmas holiday.
Prayer Requests: Injured PAX, Trojan and family, holiday travels (and stresses), sick family members
COT: Ecclesiastes 7:1-2 “A good name is better than a good ointment, And the day of one’s death is better than the day of one’s birth. It is better to go to a house of mourning Than to go to a house of feasting, Because that is the end of every man, And the living takes it to hear.”
How can SORROW be good? How can a time of mourning be better than a time of celebration?
Mourning forces one to self-reflect. It reminds us we are not in control. We are less likely to turn to God during times of joy/celebration than we are when we struggle. While joy/laughter/celebration are gifts from God….Sorrow/Mourning can bring significant growth in our faith.
If you are struggling, turn to someone who can help (look to your F3 family). If you are in a period of peace and thanksgiving, look for someone to come alongside and provide support or a helping hand.
