YHC loves new challenges and quickly gets tired of the same old thing. So, for the first Shipyard/Epicenter convergence, something new for everyone was in order!
Warm-Up
10 Windmills
20 Shoulder Taps
20 Arm Circles Forward and 10 Backwards (The shoulders would be work aplenty!)
The Thang:
Each PAX grabbed a weight plate (actually Pendalay Competition Bumper Plates) of varying weights 45lbs, 35lbs, and 25lbs, many regretted their choice quickly and wished they had picked up the 10lbs plate.
Classic Rock was played with a beep that went off every 90 seconds. That marked the beginning of one movement and the start of the next. It was AMRAP, so there was no need to count, in hopes to let the mublechatter fly. Talking commenced and work was done!
Movements Utilizing The Plate Were: (If you don’t understand, come out next time to try them out!)
Halos
Wood Chops
Squat Press
Ground to Overhead
Curl to Triceps Extension
Squat Curls
Bridging Overhead Press
Sit-Up Press
Side To Side Shouldering
Front Squat
Thrusters
Front Press Plank Jacks: PAX through this was a joke, it was not.
Active recovery opportunities were given: this was a 15 yard wormburner out and back. Put the plate on the ground and push it with all you got. These were awful.
Shoulders were smoked for sure, so was the core.
Mumblechatter was most sophomoric, but humous as always from the usual suspects.
It was a different challenge, it allowed for good fellowship and for some good old muscle building work to be done! Greta having the shipyard guys make the drive out, we will look at a love offering to offset the additional fuel costs for these poor PAX as well.
Announcements: Prayers for Brute, new PAX with a coming child who need open heart surgery right after birth.
