YHC has been slack the last two Qs on backblasts. #Cobains, especially to the men who came out to celebrate the big 4-3 with me. Y’all the real MVPs.
YHC wanted to challenge the pax in a unique way and bring a new hero WOD to REDFriday’s laundry list of #snotwogler workouts. This one did not disappoint.
Lumberjack 20
This WOD is in memory of those we lost in the terrorist attack at Fort Hood, Texas. Nine of those killed and 11 of those injured were members of CrossFit Lumberjack. You can find out more about the terror attack at Fort Hood here à https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/army-major-kills-13-people-in-fort-hood-shooting-spree
Frankly, it is hard to believe it has been 10 years since this attack. Fari winds and following seas to those we lost.
The WOD
- 20 Deadlifts
- 400m run
- 20 Alpos (subbed for KB swings because none of us wanted to go get a block for just one movement. These were much worse!)
- 400m run
- 20 front squats (subbed for overhead squats due to mobility issues)
- 400m run
- 20 burpees
- 20 chest-to-bar pullups
- 400m run
- 20 box jumps
- 400m run
- 20 squat cleans
- 400m run
Sandbags were used for all work. Amazing how challenging it is to use an unstable load versus a barbell. We never specifically worked the core, but my core got a great workout. One of the many reasons I love tossing around sandbags!
#Cobains again for the weeklong delay on this BB. #QFail
