Uncle Jesse was on the Q sheet for today, but when he got the chance to go to the Saints vs. Panthers game in Charlotte he asked if anyone would step in for him.  I figured since I would already be there why not.  So I shot out a little recruitment text to go along with the normal Twitter Channel EHing and a total of 7 men answered the call.

NMS:

  • Strong group today.  Kept asking myself was I making the workout tough enough.
  • The strong group included High School Duggar.  Showed up wearing his cap backwards and looked to be all of 17 years old.  Perform like a model Pax under the age of 45.  We should give some sort of award for that.
  • Everyone else put in a great effort too.  It was good to have 2C back at Fury after missing some time.
  • The dynamic duo of Pacer and Barcode made an appearance and as usual, they didn’t miss a beat.  Stayed up front with the lead guys the entire time.
  • Papercut continues to prove he is more than just a proper runner.
  • Mr. Fury himself, Inspector, was as quiet as usual and up front.  Dude didn’t look sick to me.
  • It’s surprising how taxing dips can be.  We only did 5 sets of 10, but when we got to the LBC light and started the 25 Merkins, I knew my shoulders were in trouble.
  • Same goes for Bonnie Blairs.  It’s easy to scoff at “5 reps counting one leg at each light pole” until you get half way though and you’re not sure you’re going to be able to stay upright on the 5th one.
  • I’ve missed Junior.  So much so that when I made my first trip up, I wasn’t sure my legs were going to get me all the way to the top.
  • Today had a backwards feel to it as we normally run that loop counter clockwise.
  • When we made it back to the pull-up bars for the final round of work, the original call was for 50 curls after each set of pull-ups.  It only took me 30 reps in the first round to realize that was stupid.  So I quickly modified to cut the rep count by 10 after each round.  I didn’t hear any complaining.
  • Enjoyed some 2nd F at Starbucks after the workout.  If you have a few minutes to spare after a workout I encourage you to stop by.  It’s always good for a few laughs.  Especially if Polly is there.
