Conditions: 45degrees with Light Rain/Mist
4 Pax ran in the pleasant mist and mild temp. Metermaid, Pick Pocket, Dixie Chic and Pothole(QIC)
Sometimes things don’t turn out the way you anticipate. The forecast was 100% rain. I think most Pax thought the gloom would be a monsoon this particular morning. Mild temperature and heavy mist at 5:15 made for a nice run. My first two miles were unusually comfortable today. The third was tougher. As I neared the end of the third mile, Metermaid passed me. I picked up the pace hoping to finish strong and looked forward to keeping Meter in sight. As he was pulling away(no surprise), a homeless guy stopped him for help. Was it a trap? It’s hard to tell now days. I think Meter could have taken the guy down if need be. Both of us there made helping someone more comfortable. Unfortunately, Meter didn’t realize his earbuds were still plugged into his phone so he could not hear the person he called for the homeless guy. Directions and advice was all we had to offer so we went on our way. Not the finish to my run I was anticipating but it made me more appreciative of the friendships and blessings in my life. God be the glory.
COT: Quick count, name and prayers for the young man on the street as heavy rain was moving in. We agreed to check on the guy on our way to Starbucks. He was upright and moving so we kept going.
2ndF: Starbucks as usual. Two or three of us were almost trapped/blocked in by the delivery truck. Somebody needs to tell them to back into the side from the mall parking. It’s just a few steps more and definitely easier access without blocking customers.
