The Fantastic Four – plus one later – embraced the start of a new week by choosing the harder thing and posting in the gloom to support their brothers. One thing I have noticed is that the more I focus on posting for others the more likely I am to actually post. When I post to get my workout in for myself I tend to have a little more difficult day and harder time getting out of bed. It sets the tone for my day to be focused on others or focused on myself. Today, it set the tone to focus on others. That was only possible because four other men (using “men” loosely in Doogie’s case) who chose to post beside me. Aye!
Above is the video to Relient K’s “Forward Motion.” I tend to struggle with forward motion on a personal level and this song encapsulates that struggle well. More on that later.
If anyone sees the Terrapin AOQ, remind him that we meet on Monday mornings at 0515 in West Cambridge Park.

YHC would like to take a moment to thank some men who have helped through a fairly difficult time personally and also to offer sincere apologies – not #Cobains – for taking my ball and going home. Sharpening is a painful process. Removing the rust and dross from the blade takes a little of the blade as it sharpens it. YHC did not respond well to this. A #ButtHurtKit has been ordered and YHC is renewing his commitment to helping others get better and making F3Greenwood the best it can be.
Specifically, YHC wants to thank Flossy, Alpo, FountainHead and Chaser from Cola and CrotchRocket from CLT for speaking words of wisdom and encouragement into my life. Many times these men were intentional about it and others they were just themselves and it rubbed off.
F3Greenwood is a family. We all will not get along all of the time and we will see things differently a lot of the time. But this is our family. I may vent my frustrations about you to other men in this group, something that is necessary to keep YHC between the lines and out of the ditch. But you are my family and, just as you will never hear me say anything bad about my wife and kids to others, you will never speak ill of you to those outside of this group. Doing so undermines the ability of all of us to impact our community.
So, now, a challenge. If you are leading in any capacity, then I challenge you to survey that area where you lead and see if it looks the same as when you started leading it. If it does, then ask yourself why. If you are truly leading, then you will constantly be adjusting based on what works and what does not. It’s hard to have forcible contact to great effect and everything stay the same.
