This was the first time I’ve had the Q at Talon, and probably the first Q I’ve had this year. We had few numbers. I blame marathons, skinny runners, and some guy named Hal.
Here is what we did.
WARMUP –
25 SSH
25 Cut-The-Grass
20 Merkins OYO
Then off to fetch a block and onto the football field we went.
There we started with the Brennon WOD
-Bearcrawl 30 yds, broad jump back, 3 burpees every 5 jumps, 3 rounds total
Next up we did a modified 11’s workout (10 reps of an exercise, dropping 1 rep every round/ 1 of another exercise, gaining 1 rep every round) We used man-makers and tricep extensions. The field was rather moist, so I wanted to keep everyone off the ground for the most part.
We had cones at both goal lines, and at the 50 yd line.
-11’s at goal line 1, rifle carry block to the 50
-5 thrusters, rifle carry to other goal line
-11’s at goal line, then move back to 50 (carrying block any way desired)
– 5 thrusters, move back to start
We only rifle carried while moving toward the scoreboard goal line. It only took 5 trips there and back to complete.
To finish with 3 sets of 10 burpees, broad jumps, and bonnies.
Work was done, and every man got better. I enjoyed their company as always.
