YHC has always liked Saturday bootcamps. This AO continues to deliver and its versatility is only limited to ones imagination. With the popularity of mobile type boot camps increasing and myself falling behind with on run miles with the lent challenge, I decided to bring the rack and stack to Talon. I got there early to set out some cones and even attempted to keep up with Alpo and DC on the pre boot camp mosey, however I was running behind and didn’t have time to stretch before the previous nights decided 5:15 start time. Living third, I decided that having a quality boot camp set up for whatever PAX decided to post on Saturday, was more important than an additional mosey on the Boulevard. Work went like this:
Conditions: a nice 50 or 60 something degrees
Disclaimer: quickly given
Off we went to the entrance of Hunter’s Creek
Two cones were set up at the fountain to mark the start/return point. Quickly explained how the work was done. Go to the first cone for an exercise, come back and repeat the work, go to second cone for a new exercise, come back and repeat cone one and cone two’s work, etc.
Cone one (35mph sign): 10 burpees
Cone two (cart path and sign): 20 dead bugs count one side only
Cone three (pile of rocks on right hand side): 30 hand release merkins
Cone four (Gentry Run Rd): 40 Big Boy Situps
Cone five (Light pole past gentry run rd): 50 air squats
Recover called at 6:55, mosey back, jail break at the buses to return to flag.
NMM:
-Great work by all! BenGay and Foreclosure are the only two that finished. Sunshine, Special K, Belle, and Quickie were close. I was on the way back from the squats when I realized I needed to pick up cones. Pusher didn’t run for the last leg out.
-YHC’s IT band continues to be a thorn
-For the record, 4 miles ran, 50 burpees, 80 dead bugs, 90 Hand release merkins, 80 big boys, and 100 squats if all the work was done.
-Dead bug is where you lay on your back with arms and knees up, one arm goes down and the opposing leg goes out while keeping the other appendices in the same position, both sides being done is one rep.
-Hand release merkins were called when I saw Ben Gay and Foreclosure destroying this workout in an attempt to slow them down a little. It had the desired effect.
Devotion:
Nahum 1:7 “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knoweth him that trusts in Him.”
Times are getting wild yall. It’s no surprise whatsoever to God. If things look a little crazy right now, just means that the end times are drawing closer. Trust God. Keep calm and carry on folks.
Announcements: 5ks going on. Mental health awareness month.
Prayer requests: Bean’s family, PC’s and M is expecting, various unspoken. Belle lifted us up.
~Till next time
