NMMS:
-Crayola and Bengay were the only two that finished this one. Might’ve been the toughest 1550 I’ve attempted. Will definitely be back. The 1550 is one of those that you can make as hard as you want it to be. That’s the point right? To get better.
-Crayola and Triple Bogey did this one vested. I hear ya guys!
-The back squats were a crowd pleaser. We only have goblet squats and thrusters as a weighted leg exercise, so I tried the back squats with a coupon in the yard Friday and decided to throw them in the workout. Surprised to see that its an exercise that makes you keep good form as well. Will definitely be back.
-06/27 is not only my bday, but its my F3 anniversary as well. I was EHed by Tickle as he is in my small group at church. I showed up at Shipyard early for a Sugar Q beatdown. Not sure what happened to the other FNG from that day. I struggled through my first workout, but some of the guys hung back with me, encouraged me, said they were”picking up the 6,” that I wouldn’t be left behind or where I was found, and that if I kept coming I’d get better. I’ve found that to be true. I was named Second Chance for being in recovery, it was later shortened to 2C by Baby Blu and it stuck. Around October/November of 2017, I got slack, wound up relapsing in December that lasted through Feb. 2018, went back to Faith Home, got out in April 2018, and got back to F3. I weighed 215 lbs post Faith Home, was dealing with a break up, and early recovery. F3 was just what I needed to not only get physically stronger, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually as well. The brothers I have in F3 locked shields with me, bore my burdens, and now I have two 1/2 marathons under my belt and I’m down to 175 lbs. I have been getting slack again, but I’m turning that around this week. I’m leaner, faster, and stronger than I can ever remember being. I’m also rucking now as well which I really enjoy. F3 is more than a workout though. It’s a brotherhood. It’s being there for one another, pushing each other to do better in all areas of life. When I came to F3, I wasn’t sure how I would fit in. That’s been a struggle of mine as well. Not being from Greenwood was a challenge as well. I was never viewed or treated like an outsider at F3. I was never judged or picked on for being the junkie that I used to be. My past was never held against me and my recovery is not only supported, but celebrated among the PAX. I’ve been able to overcome and achieve so much and it’s all thanks to F3 and being made to feel a part of. I’m not just Andrew McLeod from Camden, SC that moved to Greenwood for his recovery… I’m Second Chance aka 2C in the gloom and am humbled to be a part of F3 Greenwood.
