Prayer requests/praise reports- Hulk traveling to Costa Rica on mission trip. Sugar’s son having biopsy done for a cyst on his chin Monday, 6/3. Foley read a letter from the daughter of a friend of his that passed away this week:
“John Caldwell Griffin Sr.
Last night I had a conversation with my daddy about what time he’d wake up this morning for his doctor’s appointment. But daddy didn’t make that appointment this morning. My dad, John Caldwell Griffin, Sr., died unexpectedly, but peacefully in his sleep last night. A man who lived and loved passionately – he loved life, he loved his Clemson Tigers, he loved Brookwood Church, he loved his family, he especially loved my mom – since the 7th grade there was never another, and above all he loved his Lord. Our family is devastated by the loss, but comforted in knowing we will be with him again. We appreciate everyone’s calls, texts, and prayers for my daddy – he was one of a kind!
In loving memory of John Caldwell Griffin Sr.”
Foley requested that we dedicate today’s bootcamp in honor of John Caldwell Griffin Sr. So, we did just that. This was just a typical routine appointment. Men, this is just another reminder of how short and precious our lives are. These are the words that I would want my daughters to say about me and your children to say about you.
BOM- YHC prayed us out.
NMM- Well, there was an unusual series of events that led to 2C and YHC to CoQ this workout. Evidently we were both on the sheet to Q today. So our Nantan suggested we team up and give the PAX a double dose that could be felt for days to come. I think we delivered on that. Anything done with the Shipyard coupons will be felt for days. Earlier in the week, we got notice that Apache would be visiting us from down range. In typical fashion, YHC rolls in with just enough time to give the one minute warning. I take a look around, and I recognize everyone in the circle. Apache is not here. As I give the 0600 warning, another PAX comes in hot. Could it be Apache? Nope, it was Encinoman. So, visions of the Fartsack alert start popping into my head. Work was started with no Apache to be seen. Low and behold, at 0620 another vehicle comes in hot. Better late than never Apache. The whole time he is thinking that he is 10 minutes early for a 0630 start time. He jumped right in. He did announce that he was bringing a serious dose of mumblechatter. He did not disappoint. Uncle Jesse took the liberty of introducing him in the COT stating that Apache appeared to be a little soft spoken. That’s like saying Uncle Jesse is tall. Apache handed out tokens to PAX that had been there the longest, the site AOQ, and PAX that communicated with him on Twitter. We were glad to have this HIM join us in the gloom and look forward to the next time. We were also saddened to witness the loss of a Shipyard coupon. Honestly, I did not think you could destroy one of these freakin things, but Uncle Jesse proved me wrong. It was so awesome to see such a big crowd this morning. Every PAX was giving 100% and were wringing wet by 0700. The music this morning was provided by the Amazon Music Breaking Benjamin station. I heard Uncle Jesse tell Doubtfire ” If you liked death metal, you’ll get a long with Southern Belle”. I think deep down Sugar is a headbanger too. Solid work gentlemen!!
Southern Belle is hanging up…
