YHC was trying to figure out what type workout to utilize for this Q, around the same time my M was talking about taking her school kids on a field trip today. I don’t know that I remember being at a Shipyard workout where we left the AO, so I thought a field trip up toward Connie Maxwell would be a good idea. Five pax joined me for the shorter than planned field trip.

The Thang
- Mosey down the driveway, take a right onto Calhoun Rd stopping as a group at each streetlight (4 total) for 10 American Hammers and roughly 1/2 mile covered.
- Gather in the parking lot of Abney Memorial for some 11’s
- 10 merkins
- Lungewalk to the other side of the parking lot
- 1 big boy situp
- Lungewalk back (after about 3 rounds, YHC called and audible to karaoke on the way back to merkins)
- Rinse and repeat, decreasing merkins by 1 and increasing BBS’s by 1 until 1 merkin and 10 BBS’s
- Plank for the six
- Mosey back to the school, again stopping at each streetlight for American Hammers – 20 each this time.
- There’s a little time left before the Tsunami boys take over so everyone get in 10 burpees OYO.

NMS
- YHC had planned a few more stops farther away from the AO but underestimated the impact that the lungewalks (#crowdpleaser) would have on the clock (and the pax). That parking lot is only 12 parking spaces wide, but after about two rounds it felt like 120 spaces.
- Minimal mumblechatter and quite a bit of encouragement this morning, as is typical of a Shipyard workout.
- The group worked at nearly the same speed during the 11’s as no one was too far out in front or too far behind the pack. Personally, I wonder if Special K was holding back because YHC has never gone through an entire workout without being lapped by him.
- Metermaid was workmanlike and had perfect form on all exercises, as usual. Dude’s a beast.
- Tickle mentioned that he can only karaoke in one direction.
- Fishbowl made it out to his second workout – he said it took him 4-5 weeks to get over the first one. Hopefully it won’t take that long to get back out again.
- It was good to have Sloth join us at the Shipyard for the first time.
- Strong work by all this morning. The six of us may all be walking a little gingerly today, but it was all with the purpose to #getbetter.
- As always, it was my pleasure to lead such a strong group of men. Looking forward to the next time.
