F3 Greenwood

This is a bit late, so it will be brief.

Conditions: 48 Degrees

At 5:13 YHC observed the vacant lot by the fountain and wondered whether or not he would be running solo. Just in time, Special K and Cobra Kai swooped in and we were three. The lightness of the crew was no surprise given the fact that loads of pax were signed up for the Run Your Ice Off 5k/8k the next day.

Disclaimer: not necessary

The hills were calling so we started quickly and headed toward the Cambridge bowl. To our surprise, there were people in uptown—lots of people coalescing in the courtyard between the Arts Center and the Community Theater.

We were just starting to get the work done, but this little corner of The Wood looked like it had been awake for hours. As we mosied past the excitement, YHC recalled that WSPA, Channel 7, was doing a Hometown Spotlight on our sleepy little community.

After fighting off the urge for a photo (video) bomb, we set our sights on the hills.

The Thang (The plan was simple):

  • Head to the Cambridge and run to the top of the bridge
  • Turn around and head down the hill
  • Turn on Charles St. (The Spur) and run to the top of the hill.
  • Turn and head back to Cambridge
  • Head to the back toward Montague on Cambridge and turn around at the top
  • Repeat as many laps as time allows
  • Head back to the fountain

YHC almost forgot the count-o-rama and name-o-rama.
