F3 Greenwood

YHC sent out a message late the night before to advise PAX of the <50% chance of rain in the hopes to encourage many to post and run whatever distance and pace they are comfortable with.  8 brave PAX stepped up and did not disappoint.

Weather Conditions (ALL THE WAY in Hodges before I left):  70 degrees, 96 humidity, cloudy overhead….plenty of mist/light rain soon after we launched and a little head-wind on the way back

2 PAX went XL…good work Mr Clean and Thumper

The rest of us headed out at 5:15 sharp

YHC may be the only one to run the traditional Out-N-Back.  A few paired up and ran in different directions, different distances (4-6 miles), at different paces, but all arrived safely back at 6:00

COT

Announcements: Brute mentioned upcoming race to Project Hope for Autism is Saturday November 4 in Greenville (5k, 20K team relay, Boot Camp 5k)

Prayer requests: Continue to lift up Spud’s father and his family, Brute’s wife scheduled for job interview today, Otis scheduled for heart surgery this Friday, many PAX injured or just beat down physically, emotionally, spiritually.

YHC shared some details from recent Parenting class at church. This week the role of Fathers/Sons was discussed.  Pastor reminded us that men and women created different physically, emotionally, etc.  Because of this, we often become frustrated or fight when the other does not act/think like we do.  Since we are so different, we are not interchangeable, like society would like us to believe today.  We each offer unique qualities and characteristics, and TOGETHER, we are made to complement one another but not replace the other.  One is not superior or more important than the other, just different.  As men/husbands/fathers….we are called to lead, provide, and protect our families.  Men…how are you leading, providing, and protecting those entrusted to your care?  It’s not too late….but don’t wait ’til they are gone.

Great effort put in by the pax…it’s hard enough to fight the Fartsack….even harder when you know it’s going to rain.  Everyone ready for cooler weather, looks like it is coming.

A quick word of transparency (more than you want to know).  YHC arrived plenty early (5:00am) in order to prepare and welcome all the PAX who decided to show.  Just as soon as he pulled into the parking lot, he realized mother nature was not going to allow him to participate in a run without a trip to the potty.  After a quick mental exercise to determine the nearest and fastest option, YHC bolted BACK in the direction he came to the 7 Eleven….the Welcoming Saving Shining Toilet for many F3 Greenwood PAX over the last few years.  Thankfully YHC had a short but successful trip and arrived to the AO just in time to say hello and let’s get after it.

Until next time…
