YHC took this time to talk a little bit about Navy Chief Special Warfare Operator Mark T. Carter. (While we tried to catch our breath)
Carter came from a large family, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. This brought back memories of my childhood. I had the privilege of growing up in a close family. I only have 1 brother but our family as a whole always done stuff together. We would go camping somewhere and we would have 4 campsites in a row (my grandparents, 2 uncles, and us) and so we always had a big crowd hanging out in one of the sites. So I as a kid I was fairly naive to the fact that not everyone had this same luxury of a large loving family.
To me F3 embodies family. F3 turns into a 2nd family and for some their 1st true family. When you join F3 you join a group of like-minded men (for the most part) that are there for you during the low times as well as the high times. I mean, how high can a time be if you don’t have someone to share it with. Recent events over the past few weeks have given testimony to this. Not only are we part of a local family, but those family ties reach out across F3 Nation. We lost a brother in Lexington, which most of us here in Greenwood did not have the pleasure to know, but we still hurt. We saw where Columbia Pax were praying for one our Greenwood brothers suffering through cancer, even though most of them don’t know him personally. This led the conversation into living 3rd. Which means you live for something other than yourself. We should try to live for our families, live for our friends, but there’s nothing greater we can do here on Earth than to live for Christ. So I challenged the Pax to look for opportunities to live for others, but as you do that, live for Christ first so that the others can see a glimpse of him through you.

NMS:
* When looking at the list of Hero WOD’s I noticed that we have yet to do Badger. So that was an easy call. Then I started thinking we should be able to complete the WOD in less than 30 minutes, so I wanted to have something else ready to go just in case. Fran included the same exercises and looked to be a short WOD. Problem is, when its RED Friday and the clock is going you give that little extra bit which no matter how shirt the WOD ends up being you feel like you have nothing left to give. So with 10 left I was trying to decide whether to call for Fran or make the call to return the coupons. I looked at Sour and the look on his face was saying he wanted some more work. (Or he was hoping I was about to be struck by lighting so we could all go home.) Either way, Fran was the call.
* Can’t say enough about the effort each guy put out this morning. The humidity increased the suck factor, but it didn’t deter anyone from going all out.
* Good to see Inspector make an appearance at RED Friday again. Nothing wrong with hitting up other AOs from time to time. Despite what Polly may say when he’s putting a guilt trip on one of his Epicenter faithful for testing out Fury’s waters. #congratspolly
* I really enjoy the workouts we come up with at F3, but F3 is more than a workout. Anytime you feel like you are losing sight of that, take a step back and observe for a bit. It won’t take you long to find a situation where someone is lifting someone else up.

As always,
Until the next Q
