Yesterday afternoon Sugar reached out to YHC to see if I could procure a substitute Q for Red Friday due to his knee acting up. As soon as the thought ran through my mind that I would take the Q myself, Stud Spud rang in with a text saying he would take the Q. He wanted a little accountability to make him post to Red Friday. He chose to stick with Sugar’s original plan to do the Hero WOD Rene.

With the temperatures being low along with our numbers, YHC decided to throughout a few recruiting Tweets to try to EH some folks that haven’t been in a while. Sorry Meatloaf (he wasn’t included in the recruiting Tweets) I guess I just equate Meatloaf and running hills as inseparable duo. I received a few HC’s and was excited about the possibilities of a good crowd. 4:30 rolls around and the alarm was accompanied by a few messages from Pax that had HC’ed, but had to pull back due to illness and/or injuries (rest up, get well, and get back out here ASAP). So then, I was curious as to how many would actually make it. I pull into the parking lot and I see Spud’s vehicle as expected (he’s always an early arriver), so I knew at least I wouldn’t be flying solo. Then as I’m getting out of the car, Flossy arrives. Whew… 2 man BOM adverted (not that there’s anything wrong with that). As we chatted it up a bit, 0515 rolls around and we say, “well, it looks like it’s just going to be the 3 of us” and off we went. Then as we were rounding turn 3, here comes the snubbed 5 star recruit, Meatloaf. He decided since he wasn’t recruited, he would be a walk on and show us his game is still strong.

Announcements:

Nothing new that I can remember

Prayer Request:

• Flossy’s Uncle Bubba Fennell
• All the Pax. The missing ones, the ones recovering from injuries, the ones that are sick, the ones dealing with daily life struggles, and the ones who appear to have it all together (we all benefit from prayers)
• Our Nation’s Military along with all other Nations that are fighting beside ours.

BOM: Prayer handled by Spud

NMS:

• I basically high jacked Spud’s Q with the explanation of the details of the Hero WOD, the disclaimer, and the introduction of Danish Army Sgt. René Brink Jakobsen (I received a little help with the pronunciation of Jakobsen), so I told him I would write the BB.
• Great work put in by all the Pax. We all stayed pretty close time wise, so there was plenty of encouragement exchanged. Even though sometimes it was hard to understand because of being out of breath.
• It was nice to Honor a Hero from another Nation. I spoke that, for the most part, we honor fallen Hero’s from the US. And while that is a great thing, we should also remember that the fight for world peace is being fought by several nations together. The sacrifice that these guys and gals are making along with our home grown Here’s should not go unnoticed.

As always it’s an honor (even when high jacked)

Until the next Q (Tomorrow at the Shipyard)
