Before YHC even begins to explain this F3Greenwood team event. T-claps to F3Carpex for jump starting this and planting the seed in our minds. Your AOQ’s were trying to think of ways to keep PAX involved during this time and our Nantan just happened to be on the weekly Nantan call and F3Carpex was talking about their “Capture the Flag” event which got us thinking about how we can modify that to F3Greenwood and make it a team event. And below is what we came up with.
Here’s How it Works
-
A new workout for the week will be released each Friday (this weeks is at the bottom of this pre-blast). Some weeks the workout will be run heavy for the gazelles and some weeks the work out will be more BC heavy for the Clydesdales and some week it will be more in between. Regardless of what the workout is, every workout will be designed to be able to be done on your own at home in the event of a full statewide shutdown.
The workout needs to be completed by the next Friday at midnight.
Your team of PAX (teams will be listed below) will work together to complete the workout to the best of your ability to get the best score. The scoring for each week will be released when the workout is released.
The captain of each team will compile the team’s score and submit them to BenGay (aweyer@lander.edu).
Each workout can be completed as many times as possible with the best score being used in the team’s score.
Scoring will be as follows: 1 point for each team member that completes the workout; bonus point if the entire team completes the challenge (most teams only have 4 PAX but if your team has more than 4 PAX you can earn this point if 75% of your team completes the challenge); 1 point for each team member that beats the threshold set for each challenge (each workout will be given a target threshold to reach and for each member that hits this threshold they will be awarded 1 point).
Why Are We Doing This?
-
To keep us together during this time of uncertainty. Our hope is that we can use this to continue to encourage “posting” either together or at home. We want to encourage those PAX who “don’t BC” to give it a try or those who “don’t run” to give that a try. We want to encourage those who haven’t posted in awhile, to come back out. We want those that post all of the time, to continue to post and encourage those that don’t. We need each other right now to be the rocks for each other, our families, and our communities. So, don’t ignore this and get involved.
Teams (if you are not on a team or know of a PAX that we missed, please reach out to one of the guys and get on their team. It is definitely not intentional by any means. This is also a great time to invite FNG’s.)

COVID-19 Flag #1 Challenge
-
Fastest 5K with 35 hand release merkins every mile.

The team with the fastest average time will capture this weeks flag.
The threshold time for the extra bonus point is sub-22 minutes.
If there are any questions or things that need to be clarified (which YHC is sure there will be, reach out to one of the AOQ’s and we’ll answer those questions. So, let’s get after it and do what we do as F3Greenwood and continue to accelerate forward and always remember to pick up the 6.
