YHC started the HC train last night with a vest next to his name, and only Crayola and Foreclosure were crazy enough to join me. I think buttery soft T-shirts and biscuits were being handed out at the other AO to get 8.

Conditions were 30-ish and clear skies, perfect vest weather, and not of the sweater variety.

1 minute warning called and disclaimer given. Time to get to work.

Warmup

5 burpees and 20 SSH OYO, 15 Imperial Walkers IC, 15 CTG IC, 5 burpees and 20 SSH OYO. Mosey towards pull-up bars.

How to get a little warmer?  Ring of fire: 1 PAX drops for 5 burpees then 5 pull-ups while remaining PAX hold a high plank. We cycled through the 3 of us twice, and we were now sufficiently warmed up.

The Thang

Grab a coupon and head towards Fury Hill. On the way we stopped 2 times for 5 Manmakers. Stopping at second driveway entrance, we Rifle Carry coupon all the way down to the bypass. 10 Bonnie Blair’s (hard way) and 5 Manmakers. Double time it back up Fury Hill, perform  5 burpees then mosey back down. 10 Bonnie’s and 5 Manmakers then farmer carry back up the hill to the top of circle drive on the right side.

AMRAP of the following: 10 Thrusters, 20 Hand Release Merkins, 30 count high or low plank, 40 American Hammers (easy way) then a lap around the circle drive, alternating rounds of farmer carry first round and next round without coupon. ***Bonus work: at any time a PAX yells out Shenanigans, we all stop and complete 5 Manmakers or 5 Burpees if without your coupon. ***

We completed 4 rounds of this, and to the best of YHC’s recollection we each called out Shenanigans 2 times. At the completion of 4th round we grabbed the coupons and headed back to pull-up bars. Return coupons.

Still some time left so Another Ring of Fire, this time 3 burpees followed by 3 pull-ups while the other PAX hold a high plank. 2 turns per PAX completed and RECOVER called.

We circled up, or with 3 is it a triangle? Counted out, named out.

NMM

It still amazes YHC what a huge difference a 10-20 pounds of added vest makes during a beatdown. YHC is preparing for a Spartan in April, and a vest might whip me into shape (or leave me sucking wind at the top of Fury Hill). Either way, it is a challenge for sure. Glad 2 beast showed up to join me in the misery of vested work. It was my honor to lead, and hope the work was Fury worthy, as this was only YHC’s second Q here.

Until next time, Brut is out. 🦺⬆️
