YHC noticed that the Q was open on Thursday and decided to take it. There was a request from SouthernBelle on Friday to “kick his arse” since he hadn’t posted since Tuesday and YHC hopes he delivered.

Weather – the rain stayed away but I guess the threat scared PAX away. Don’t know why, it was so humid that by the end of the BC, all PAX were soaked anyway. It might as well have rained.

Disclaimer given at 6:00 and off we went.

Warm-up

SSH x 30

Merkins IC x 15

Copperhead Squats IC x 20

Mosey to the coupon cage, secure a coupon and mosey  to the tennis courts. At the tennis courts, PAX were divided into 2 teams and lined up along the sideline facing the court. This was going to be a team competition with a winner and a loser because unlike youth sports these days, NOT EVERYONE WINS!

The Thang

There were 3 sets of exercises to be done with a different exercise being done at each court. This was a cumulative event. The rep count for the 1st exercise was 50 per the number of PAX on your team, for the 2nd exercise was 75 per the number of PAX on your team, and for the 3rd exercise was 100 per the number of PAX on your team. After your team completed the prescribed number of reps for the exercise, they moseyed to the fair end of the 3 tennis courts and moseyed back to the block. Upon arriving at the block, each PAX then lungewalked their block to the next court. This was repeated until all 3 exercises were done.

Set 1

Court 1 – KB Swings (50 per PAX in your team)

Court 2 – Reverse crunches with the block in a press position (75 per PAX in your team)

Court 3 – Chest Press (100 per PAX in your team)

After completing all three exercises, teams left their block on the sideline of court 3 and completed a version of an Indian Run that went like this. PAX assumed a plank position, PAX in the back sideshuffles through the line until they got to the front and so on down the entire length of the 3 courts. First team back wins. Winners had to do 25 cumulative burpees and losers had to do 30 cumulative burpees.

We then slow moseyed back to the block and began set 2.

Set 2

Court 1 – Goblet Squats (50 per PAX)

Court 2 – Flutter kicks with block in press position counting right leg only (75 per PAX)

Court 3 – Pullovers (the original intention was 100 per PAX but YHC aubdibled this to 50. One of those ideas that looked great on paper but…)

Team that finished first won this set. We moseyed to the nearest pull-up bars. Losing team had to do 30 pull-ups cumulative and winners 25 cumulative. After pull-ups, we moseyed back to the tennis courts for one more set.

Set 3

Court 1 – Thrusters (50 per PAX. This was a real crowd pleaser.)

Court 2 – Leg Raises with block in press position (75 per PAX)

Court 3 – Biceps Curls (100 per PAX)

Teams finished with 5 minutes to spare. We then partnered up and farmer carried the blocks back to the cage switching half way through. When we got to the cage, we had 2 minutes left until 7, so we did an AMRAP of triceps extensions until 7:00. Blocks were returned and we moseyed back to the flag for COT.

Prayers

-Pinto’s family with the passing of his sister.

-BenGay’s grandfather who is 95 and his heart is only functioning at 20%.

NMS

-The crowd was sparse due to the forecast of rain and although it didn’t rain, as Mulligan pointed out at the end, we were all wet like it did.

-During the set of thrusters, MaryAnn commented on how sometimes just staring at the block on the ground is very comforting and a very pretty sight to see. And how true that is. The thrusters were a real crowd pleaser, especially that late in the BC.

-YHC wanted to create a team atmosphere today so PAX could work together to accomplish the team goal and stay together. The work rate was great. Great to see Pothole posting at more BC’s. Hope that Mulligan and Fatback become more regulars. As usual, Blu, MaryAnne, and Southern Belle killed it. Dixie Chick had to leave halfway through due to a yard sale but he has become a BC regular and pushing everyone around him. (On a side note, he has a lawn mower for sale if anyone is interested, that is if it hasn’t sold yet.) 2C keeps posting and getting better.

-Blu turns 61 at some point this week. If he has the Q anymore, be warned. You all remember what happened last year at his 60th birthday Q. YHC has tried to strike that one from the memory bank.

-As always, it’s an honor to lead this group of men and thanks for coming out and pushing yourself.

Until next time,

BenGay
