The Amazing Race is one of my favorite reality TV competition shows so I had a thought a couple of weeks ago about doing something fun and incorporating it into my workout. As I set up the course we had a couple of early cars pulling in. It seemed Juggernaut forgot the Epicenter starts at 5:30 so he showed up for a 5:15 workout. As a matter of fact I learned he was talking smack about me not being there for my own workout but thankfully Meatloaf filled him on my whereabouts and our start time. No beef though, apologies all around when I made my way to the shovel flag.
Conditions: I don’t know the actual temp but trust me, IT WAS COLD. Shortly after a quick warmup and run down on the course though, the chills quickly changed as excitement of winning 1st place and a shout out in the BB was up for grabs.
Disclaimer: I am not a professional. Trust me on that one.

On Your Mark, Get Set , GO!
Its called the Amazing Race and that’s just what we did. One lap around the entire Epicenter with stops along the way that had objectives you and your partner had to complete before moving to the next location. There were 12 PAX so we had 6 Teams going on this journey together. 1st team Back WINS. Just so we wouldn’t be bumping into each other at every cone, 3 teams went to the right around the track and the other 3 went to the left.
There were 5 cones representing Countries spread out along the track. Each Cone had a workout taped to it and a Flag of what Country we were at.
The Countries & Objectives
Brazil: 50 Patty Cake Merkins with your Partner
Bolivia: 300 LBC’s between you and your Partner
Yemen: Crab Walk down hill 20 Burpees/Bear Crawl back up 15 Burpess/Crab back down 10 Burpees/Bear back up 5 Burpees
France: (Polly’s Favorite) 25 Junk Yard Dogs a piece. (Junk Yard Dog is when 1 Pax high planks while the other crawls under, then the Pax low planks while the other Jumps back over).
Madagascar: 25 Iron Crosses a piece
Each Team made it back to the Shovel Flag just in time for a little mumble chatter before the Count & Name- O – Rama
THE STANDINGS:
Congrats to Sour & Juggernaut for being 1st.
2nd: Snake Oil & Smokey
3rd: Meatloaf & Fabio
4th: Coffin & Short Circuit
5th: Polly & Audios
6th: Judge Hairy & Senator
- Everyone seemed to really enjoy the entire race and said they had a lot of fun.
- A crowd pleaser for my group was in France. Just an FYI, if you don’t plank high enough with someone crawling under you… there will be awkward and unintentional bumping.
- T-Claps to Judge Hairy and Senator. You guys pushed it and even though you weren’t the fastest, each workout was completed.
- Also from what I hear, there might have been a record broke in a number of crunches in 10 seconds from the other group.
- I could definitely tell that work was done by the winners when approaching the end of the race and seeing Meatloaf trying to give CPR to Juggernaut who was laid out on the track. Good Job guys!

At the End the YHC gave a little message about running races and trying to reach goals in your life. The YHC also reminded the PAX that we never run alone and have a great partner matching us step for step.
PS: Remember guys F3 is more about coming out to just get a nick name. In order for F3 to keep its integrity we need all PAX to push themselves to the next level.
