Cold Feet here,
This morning, 8 brave pax arrived at the Epicenter to embrace the impending pain and countless burpees that always accompany a Juggernaut Q. Upon arrival, some early morning chatter began as pax greeted one another and discussed what the workout would be like. Finally at 5:15, Bambi made note that the Q had not yet arrived (It happens to the best of us, Jug. I personally am fond of Spud’s poem about fartsacking… everyone should give it a read on slack!). The rest of the pax then joked that one of us would have to lead. This is where Roach saw a good opportunity to make yours truly eat his words. Recalling a conversation that had taken place about 15 mins before, where I stated that he has “never let me Q”, Roach decided to make me put my money where my mouth is and challenged me to step up and lead. The rest of the pax concurred and thus began my impromptu V-Q.
COP:
- Side Straddle Hops: 20X
- Grass Cutters: 20X
- LBAC’s (Not LBC’s… I goofed, I was nervous) 20X, reverse 20X
- Flutter kicks: 20X
- LBC’s: 30 on your own
The Thang:
Roach suggested that we Indian run to the coupons (The Po-Po was also on scene and was investigating a car at the edge of the woods – SO naturally we wanted to investigate. We were worried it was Juggernaut, who was still AWOL at the time, OR that CLOWN from Greenville!) We paused our run for a little “run break” at the roundhouse in the center of the complex for:
- Merkins: 25X OYO
- WW2 Sit-ups: 20 X OYO
We then continued our Indian rut to the coupons. Upon arrival, Coffin volunteered to take over for a bit. He then proceeded to lead us in the most brutal DORA that I have faced in a while.
- 100 Kettle Bell Swings
- 200 Bent Over Rows
- 300 Dips
- 200 Overhead presses
- 100 Block Merkins
Returned the coupons and moseyed back to the flag.
I then took back the reigns.
Count-O-Rama: 8 Epicenter Faithful
Name-O-Rama: No FNG’s
Prayer Requests:
- Bambi’s brother
- Coffin’s brother
- Roach’s 2.0, Striker: recovering from a nasty fall that resulted in 2 broken wrists.
BOM:
Gather around the flag for prayer.
I spent a lot of the day reflecting on this morning’s workout. This is definitely not the first time that I have regretted something that I said. Often times in life, if I don’t watch it, I tend to say or do a lot of things that I regret or am ashamed of. But while in my thoughts, I was reminded that while I may be ashamed of many things, I am definitely not shamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Feel free to check out Romans 1:16-17 for more on this subject). It was a complete honor lead you guys this morning. Thanks for the challenge and encouragement.
-Cold Feet
Polly here posting the BB for the “War Baby.” I want to personally congratulate Cold Feet for an awesome VQ and for great Cadence calling! I did my best to throw his count off (nobody likes a show-off) but he stuck with it. Great Job! I am looking forward to your “Official VQ” very soon (if Roach will let you!)
