Even though this morning was the 26th, Christmas never ends in the mind of YHC. So, with that in mind, YHC designed/borrowed (more on that later), a Christmas themed workout entitled, The 12 Days of Christmas and three hard working PAX tackled it.
Weather – Chilly December morning
Disclaimer given.
Warm-up
SSH x 20
Imperial Walker x 20
Mosey to the pull-up bar where each PAX performed a max effort pull-up or hang. As a side note, YHC hated pull-ups until F3, but they are one of the things YHC looks forward to during bootcamps.
Mosey to the center and perform 3 sets of alternating 30 seconds people’s chair and BTW.
The Thang
Mosey to the hill and instructions were given for the workout. It went like this. Each day was assigned a workout and the number of the day indicated how many reps of that exercise to do. After competing day 1, PAX had to climb the hill in various manners and run back to the bottom. The exercises were as follows:
Day 1 – Monkey Humpers
Day 2 – Hand Release Burpees
Day 3 – Forward Lunges (counting one leg)
Day 4 – Werkins
Day 5 – Burpees
Day 6 – Calf Raises
Day 7 – Derkins
Day 8 – Reverse Lunges (counting one leg)
Day 9 – Hand Release Merkins
Day 10 – Squats
Day 11 – Merkins
Day 12 – Bonnie Blairs (counting both legs)
So, it went like this. For Day 1, PAX performed 1 Monkey Humper and broad jumped up the hill and ran down. On Day 2, PAX performed 2 Hand Release Merkins and 1 Monkey Humper and broad jumped up the hill and ran down. On Day 3, PAX performed 3 Forward Lunges, 2 Hand Release Merkins, and 1 Monkey Humper and broad jumped up the hill and ran down. This repeated all the way until Day 12. The various ways that PAX got up the hill were as follows:
Day 1-3 – Broad Jump
Day 4-6 – Bear Crawls
Day 7-9 – Backwards Run
Day 10-12 – Sprint
PAX started everyday together so, if a PAX completed the day and was waiting, he planked to the 6. When time was called, we were all about finishing up.

NMS
-YHC borrowed this idea from F3 Davidson. On Black Friday, they had a big convergence with all of the F3’s in Lake Norman and they did a variation of this but everyday was a different type of burpee. YHC wasn’t in the mood to do that many burpees, so, modifications were made.
-At about Day 7, Thumper asked if this actually looked good on paper.
-Great work was put in by Thumper and Royal Flush.
Till next time.
