During COT time on Tuesday after bootcamp, what YHC thought was a request was made by Judge Hairy. He said that we haven’t done rifle carry Indian runs with a coupon lately. So, YHC assumed that was a request to be included in the workout for Thursday and so it was. In hindsight, YHC assumed incorrectly as it wasn’t exactly a PAX favorite.

Weather – Chilly 28 degrees with some wind

Warm-up

SSH x 20

The Thang

Moseyed to the coupon cage and lined up outside of the cage. As grumbling began when PAX were informed of the exercise, off we went Indian run style holding the coupon in a rifle carry. We continued the Indian run to the pull-up bars where we happily unloaded the coupon.

Station #1 at pull-up bar (Merkins and Squats)

PAX completed 10 merkins and then ran to the second light pole and completed 1 squat. PAX ran back to pull-up bars and completed 9 merkins and then ran to the light pole and completed 2 squats. This continued until PAX completed 1 merkin and 10 squats. PAX who finished early completed ab exercises or pull-ups.
When everyone was done, PAX got their coupon and another rifle carry Indian run commenced to the center of the Epicenter where once again they were happily dropped off.

Station #2 (Wall Sits and Australian Mountian Climbers)

PAX completed a 30 second wall sit and then 20 Australian Mountain climbers counting both legs. This was repeated twice. At this time, we still had one more station to go, but YHC decided it would be best to leave the coupons in the middle of the Epicenter and mosey to the last station. This was met with some sighs of relief. So, off we went to the pavilion.

Station #3 (Pavilion Work)

The work went like this
20 Dips
20 Step-ups counting each leg
20 Decline Merkins (could be alternated with Incline Merkins if PAX preferred)
20 Calf Raises
Then run to the corner and back. Rinse and repeat.

After 12 minutes of this, recover was called and we returned to our coupon and had a haphazard rifle carry Indian run was done to the cage. Coupons were returned and back we went to the flag for COT.

NMS

-YHC shared Matthew 1:18-21. This is where Joseph is planning to divorce Mary due to her being pregnant. The thing that sticks out to me is that in verse 19, Scripture states that he, “did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.” Joseph had every right to publicly humiliate Mary, but he had such character that he wasn’t going to do that. Now, we know how the story ends, but it was a great reminder to me to maintain my character when things don’t go as planned. It is so easy to us as men to lose our cool and say or do things that we regret later when things don’t go well at home or at work. Instead, the challenge is to be like Joseph and to maintain our character and even during these times to be an example of Jesus to others. Because, it is during these times when people are watching us to see how we react.
-Next time, be careful what you ask for Judge, because you just might get it.

Till next time,

BenGay
