The last time YHC Q’d a BC, YHC realized that the tennis courts are an underutilized feature of the Mothership, so this morning’s beatdown was going to use them. And with the amount of rain that we received last night, the Epicenter was going to be soaked and soggy, so they were even more appealing. A Dora was planned for the workout, so with 6 HC’s the night before, it was going to be perfect. That was until one “forgot to set his alarm”. So, a slight modification was required but all in all, as ThinMint said during COT, “The suck factor was high.”

5:15 – disclaimer given and we moseyed to the coupon cage as a warm-up. PAX were divided up into teams of 2 and each team got one coupon and met out front of the cage.

Extended Warm-up
PAX 1 rifled carried coupon while PAX 2 stayed behind and did 15 SSH’s. After completing SSH’s, PAX 2 ran to PAX 1 and continued rifle carry while PAX 1 did 15 SSH’s. This continued until we reached the tennis courts.

The Thang
Blocks were placed in one corner of the court. The format of the workout was going to be a DORA style workout. Work was going to be done in the corners with the blocks. The person doing the block work was not allowed to do more than half of the rep scheme. If they finished before their partner got back, they did ab work.
1st Set
Block work was 50 thrusters and 100 curls.
Non block work was 5 burpees.
While PAX 1 started block work, PAX 2 bearcrawled the baseline of the court and then sprinted the length of the court. When he got to the opposite corner, PAX 2 performed 5 burpees, and then bearcrawled the baseline of the court and then sprinted the length of the court back to the corner with the blocks to relieve PAX 1 and pick-up rep count. PAX 1 then repeated what PAX 2 did.
After finishing block work, PAX did abs to the 6.
After all groups finished, 50 LBC’s were done together.

NMS
-Great work was put in by all of the men today. They all pushed themselves through out the workout. Somewhere in the middle, Otis told YHC that I completed him. Our relationship went to the next level. The encouragement was great through out the workout.
-Also we all decided that although sometimes we hate the workout so much that we love it and that we all go through withdrawals when we miss.
-We all also agreed that we missed Polly’s mumblechatter and utterings of “Mother Fletcher” but decided that Fury was probably enjoying it.
-YHC shared Hebrews 9:28, “He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.” This waiting is not a passive waiting. We are supposed to be active serving and glorifying Him through this waiting. And while we, who are Christ followers, are waiting for that glorious day when He returns, this also applies as we wait for answers to prayers for healing, prayers for direction, and prayers for peace. This waiting should be a period of time when we are actively seeking and serving Him.

Until next time,

BenGay
