A little (okay, a LOT) of rain didn’t stop 25 PAX from posting at the #Epicenter for a soggy #BeatDown courtesy of YHC. YHC promised a single lap around the #Epicenter and delivered on that promise. What happened #OnTheWay, however, was a different story.
Things were running smoothly in spite of the near-flood conditions at the #Epicenter until the PAX encountered one of life’s great conundrums – how ants can survive in the midst of an all-out flood of Noahic proportions relative to their size. More on that later.

YHC opted for the slaughter start so the PAX would feel they got in an adequate workout given the fact that we were only running one lap around the #Epicenter.

YHC challenged the PAX – especially himself – to be aware of the things happening while we are on the way to a destination. Sometimes that project isn’t as important as getting that thing down for your wife because she can’t reach it or tossing the football with your kids. As Boo! noted, live the journey.
YHC was disappointed with the level of mumblechatter from the PAX right up until we found the ants at the bottom of the Hill of Pain. The PAX stepped up their game after that. Most of the PAX located at least one friendly fire ant floating in the puddles at the bottom of the hill. Many of the PAX could be seen stripping in the parking lot after the BoM. YHC had a “Stand By ME” moment when he got home. See video for reference, substituting fire ants for leeches.

Flossy has a co-worker whose husband was just diagnosed with cancer. Hacksaw’s grandmother was just diagnosed with breast cancer. Mulligan’s brother is going through a tough time. YHC got one son out of a cast and is putting the other son in one. Let’s pray for those affected by cancer and with other physical ailments. Mostly, let’s use these things to remind us that life happens while we are on the way. Be present in the moment.
