After a hard night of campaigning coming from the Fury camp YHC was holding hope we would have 12 pax posting for a little rendezvous at the Shipyard. We had 10. But what a solid 10 we had! I know the numbers have been down some from what #theWood is used to and I don’t fully understand why…but I know this, even if it’s just ONE other pax posting and I’m the Q, my job is to be positive, motivational, and lead to the best of my God given ability. I’ll be honest, sometimes that is a struggle but this morning, these 10 men gave me encouragement and 110%, what else could a Q ask for!

Disclaimer and the fun begins!

THE THANG

Each pax grabbed a coupon and moseyed to the bottom of the Cement Monster for a little dose of Twelve’s. YHC must interject, it was here that Sugar, being the fine selfless servant he is, saw a pax in a quandry. The pax’s thought bubble: “dang it, that coupon is the one with extra cement on it…I don’t want that one but it’s right here in front of me!” Sugar grabs it! That means, for this next workout Sugar effectively went XL. YHC tried to relieve him of it during the workout…nothing doing! Good job bro! The way this worked, at the bottom of the Monster pax completed 1 Curl, then with all you got, run to the top of the Monster with coupon in tow to complete 11 Thrusters. Then back down to complete 2 Curls, back up for 10 Thrusters. Descending up top, ascending at the bottom always keeping the total count at 12. This can be done as a little game of Black Jack for those who dare…21 reps! But this morning T-Rav said, “12 is enough”. I agree, it was tough. Pax completed 66 Thrusters and 66 Curls. YHC had the number 12 for a specific reason though…this will be referred to later.

Next,

Mosey to the goal line on the field but along the way grab an additional coupon. After the pax lined up on the line, YHC called for pax to your right becomes you partner. Mine was Sunshine. Dude kicked it…muscle failure ensued as it should’ve. This was the case for each man. Also during this time YHC heard a disturbing noise come from the recesses of some pax’s gut…wasn’t sure who until later. Shaggy informed me he almost gave the infamous Splash Merlot but “the belch” as he called it saved him. Man, that was some belch. The workout was:

20 Iron Crosses (during demo a direct hit of YHC’s sweat landed in Sunshine’s eye! Sorry man!!)

20 Block Jumps

20 Booyah! Merkins

20 Kettle Bells

20 Lunges

Quick transition, no break, to The Gross–partner style. Pax 1 held the Al Gore while pax 2 completed the exercise, 12 reps, then flap jack between each exercise until all 12 completed.

  1. Dips
  2. Merkins
  3. Lunges w/ the coupon
  4. Kettle Bells
  5. Atomic Merkins
  6. Overhead Press
  7. ALPO’s
  8. LBC
  9. Monkey Humpers
  10. Burpees
  11. Werkins
  12. Jungle Boi Squats

Next,

put your coupons up and circle ’round the flag.

NMM:

For the element of 3rdF YHC spoke briefly about the Disciples. How many were there?? 12! Their lives can be categorized into two parts really, before Christ and after Christ. Before Christ, even though they were most likely faithful men of the Jewish faith they knew there was a void. Something missing. Their sense of purpose, reason for being, had not been made fully known to them…that is until they met the Christ! After their encounter with Jesus their mission, their purpose, their value, became overwhelmingly clear. Was life perfect then? No. Did troubles all of a sudden go away? Absolutely not. But they knew now, life mattered beyond their circumstances. There was a newness, a sense of purpose and the understanding that their life mattered and could be used to impact others for good. The same rings true for us! YHC challenged the pax to be men of faith, men who live out the understanding of their worth and value as shown through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. Knowing this, that Christ died for us and now lives for us, should give each of us that sense of purpose to make a difference in the lives of those around us. And that begins, men, AT HOME first!

Remember Shaggy’s 25 year old son in your prayers. Request God to give him wisdom in the choices he makes.

Good to see Mulligan home safe and sound!!

AYE!
