Taking it seriously

Recently, YHC has been accused of taking this F3 thing a little too seriously. After much consideration and seeking the SkyQ it became apparent that this F3 thing, if applied as it is intended to be by the ones who founded it, cannot be taken too seriously. It is, quite literally, #TheSolution. So 8 PAX took the #DRP seriously and posted at the Epicenter for some 1stF sprinkled with 2ndF at the hands of YHC. Of course, some 3rdF was tossed in at the end. Welcome to F3 and #LivingThird!

Each round is a different exercise. 5 reps, run to first cone and back. 10 reps, run to second cone and back. 15 reps, run to third cone and back. 20 reps, run to fourth cone and back. 25 reps. First one finished leads Mary until the six is in.

  • #TClaps to Refugee on the birth of the 2.0. Yesterday, he said, “I’ll be back on Monday.” “Must be his first kid,” quipped Alpo. Turns out it’s his second. Right now, odds are 3-2 he posts at #FountainHead on Monday. Kobayashi, as the #FountainHead AOQ, will be collecting bets.
  • “I love the smell of burpees in the morning.” – JudgeHairy
  • Speaking of JudgeHairy, the lawyer in him asked for two minutes for rebuttal of the assertion that anyone CAN complete #TheAssault. Motion denied.
  • #Mumblechatter was at an all-time low, even from the usually-snarky Polly. YHC attributes this to the work that was being done.
  • Short devo at the end – We had a great example of perfect leadership in Jesus. In Philippians 2, Paul tells us that Jesus shed his robe of Godliness and became a man, tempted in all ways like we are, and humbled Himself in obedience. My oh my, if YHC could get that down… We have a perfect example of leadership and He knows just how hard it is to stay the course. We talk about #LivingThird all the time in F3, but what does that look like? Too often, we think of ourselves first. #LivingThird means SkyQ first, friends and family second and I am third. If we were to evaluate every decision based on what it would do for others as opposed to what it would (or not do) for ourselves, how much #IMPACT would that have on our sphere of influence. YHC challenged the PAX (mostly himself) to do that today.
  • Speaking of leadership, it was through some great leadership in F3 that YHC discovered his D2X (that’s the intersection of the Dolphin and the Daffodil. Still confused? Read the book). Starting with the opportunities in the life laboratory we call the workouts and continuing into roles as ComzQ, #REDFRiday AOQ and QIC for the F3Nation LinkedIn group, the SkyQ provided opportunities for YHC to find the sweet spot in his bat. Oddly enough, YHC hit his knees last May and asked for deeper, more authentic connections to other men and the revelation of his purpose. The SkyQ answers in His time, gentlemen.
  • While YHC is on the soap box – and understanding that no one reads this far in backblasts – let it be known that YHC observed up close and personal the core principles of F3 in action down in Columbia. It started with an investment of time from a few guys coming up here to give #TheExplanation. It became apparent that it wasn’t just lip service or a novel idea during the flood. Those men lived and breathed every word of it. Their city resembled a war zone, yet they told every person helping out “Thank you” so much – and meant it every time – that it made you want to grab them in a big bear hug and make it go away. They were genuinely appreciative of every ounce of help and the led right from the front, so much so that disaster relief organizations sought out men of F3 to help refine disaster response protocols. Watching that in action forever changed me. THAT is what F3 is about. Those men down there were sharpened by constant admonition to post consistently regardless of conditions, to post for their brothers not themselves and to be ever mindful of #LivingThird at home and in their community. They take F3 very seriously. And that, friends, is YHC takes it so very seriously. If ever found in a similar situation, I want to be a man who is impacting and saving lives, not one looking for safety and a place to stroke a check. May I be found out front.
