16 pax came out to post on Pusher’s VQ at the Shipyard. It was calm and 32, so the weather was better than expected! Pusher wanted to incorporate a little more 2nd F along with the 1st F, so a team competition planned.
The PAX started from parking lot and did Indian run around track and then to upper field and grabbed coupon.
We then did quick burst warm up exercises to hit all muscle groups.
10 minutes –
side straddle hops,
little baby arm circles
slow squats
curls with coupon
imperial walkers
dips on coupons
jungle boy squats
then on six to do crunches, merkins, whirly boys, and then coupon presses.
Recovered, did 7 burpies, and then run to lower field , lap around track , and back to upper field.
Then we broke into two groups to compete in first ever F3 survivor team challenge: Spud’s group vs Pusher group. Two teams of eight.
3 members each group- “speedy gonzales”- sprint 50 yards to cone, backwards 50 yards to end zone, sprint back 50 yards to coupon, finish with karaoke back and tag to partner. While they were racing, rest of group alternated with jungle boy squats and curls. When 3rd member of team completed leg, next two PAX for team were up…..
These were the Men-o-steel– 2 team members Farmer’s carry two coupons 50 yards, complete 40 merkins, and then back, leaving one coupon for next group. Team members not involved in this part did crunches. First man-o-steel back tagged off to third leg of challenge….
3rd leg of race–two team members—the wolverines–first man did 10 burpies, bear crawled to cone, retrieved the coupon left by Man-o-steele, and returned. He tagged off to second wolverine who did 10 burpies, bearcrawled , and sprinted back. While this part of race was going on, rest of team did manmakers. Then, he tagged off to last team member….
The “Michael Johnson ” of group. He took off for lower field for a 400 yard sprint around track. While he was running , rest of team mosied to track to join him.
When sprinter finished his lap around track , he joined team at gate entrance. Each team of eight formed circle while lying on the ground. Thus started the Vision Quest circle of fire ( Vision quest-great sports movie from 80’s! with great sound track.) Each PAX would have to jump up, chop legs around circle of fellow F3 members and drop back into original position. Then next Pax would jump up and do same. When everyone had completed circle back to first PAX, he went around circle and then took off for sprint around track. Each member would follow suit until anchor member was reached. Last man then jumped up and took off to complete lap as well. The only rule for this last part of race was the last leg of the team could not pass any team member. It was up to him to push team around.
At the end, Pushers team made huge comeback on the last lap sprint to barely nudge Spud’s team. Although Spud pulled a Cam Newton and didn’t show up at Cafeteria for post press conference, he was forgiven for helping Pusher keep race organized and in motion!
After race, we all got in Vision quest circle again as big group. Start circle process again. This time, after someone jumped you, each PAX would do 7 merkins. With 16 members going full blast around circle, that equated to 112 merkins after everyone sprinted around circle! Awesome job PAX!
We then mosied back to flag, and did a few more exercises for last 10 minutes. Sugar, Pro-tem, Round-up led us in their choice of exercise and Baby Blue finished us off with 57 cadence chest presses with coupon. RESPECT! As a member of the hunter creek posse, I have to give nod to the Adam’s Family participation today.
After count-o-rama, nam-o-rama, we did announcements—Feb 20th convergence and March 12th 4 hour event mentioned. Took prayer requests and the balled it up for prayer and headed to cafeteria.
Thanks to all who posted and went with the challenge.
Hope you all enjoyed it.
