F3 Greenwood

YHC decided that a backblast was in order, since we did do a COT and BOM, and since no workout actually happened without a backblast, I figured all members would want credit for completing such an amazing accomplishment.

This event was beyond words for YHC, my story actually starts on 9/11/14 the first time I ever ran a 5k, which makes perfect sense that a year from the day I ran 3.2 miles for the first time. I was running 21 miles in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Only one answer makes sense to why? F3.

But this story isn’t about me it is about all of us, 24 men stepped out of their comfort zones and took on the challenge of running 211 miles through the mountains of Virginia and NC.

Like every event done in Lexington, SC the men of F3 came in strong not only making one team but two teams for our first appearance in the Blue Ridge Relay. We relied on our brothers through pain and lack of sleep to complete the course in a respectable 32 hours.

The war stories and 2nd F were second to none. Bonds were formed in hammocks, vans, and on the pavement and gravel. You witnessed it on your brothers faces as they handed off the slap bracelet that they left it all on the mountain, maximum effort given from all pax.

A special thanks for Hanging Chad for being the head QIC for the event. YHC enjoyed the time planning and getting to know you as we watched our work come to fruition.

YHC decided to let the Pax tell you their thoughts from the event.

“This was by far my favorite F3 experience, more than a GoRuck, as far getting to know my brothers. Sorry I got chocked up with my closing prayer, but sometimes my emotions get the best of me. Just like in the BRR, alone we fail, but with Christ we Prevail. Shake & Bake

“By far one of my best F3 outings to date. Looking forward to many more to come.

If I have one complaint about the weekend (you know I really don’t complain much), its that it went by too fast.” Meatball

“Great experiencing all 3Fs and what this F3 thing is all about. You guys have got something special” Flossy

The BOM and Name o Rama brought chills (and tears) to me. Brotherhood is what it is all about. Iron sharpens Iron. Rocking Chair

For me it was as much about the faith and fellowship as it was the running. It was an awesome experience to build true relationships with great men who I can call brothers. Pavarotti

The stories are endless and YHC could go on about Candylicker, and how to Scoop someone at the end of a race but if you want to know grab a beer with these guys, because it is the best group of men YHC has ever been around.

If you are reading this BB and didn’t run the BRR, I would highly suggest getting on the bandwagon because you will learn a little bit about yourself and come back with a group of brothers at the end. Their has been a ton of HCs for BRR 2016, so get ready because Lexington is coming back with at least 3 teams next year, and YHC will definitely be there.
