YHC signed up for the Q this day well in advance. Being the Taper Q and knowing that the BRR is just 2 days away YHC wanted to post but also wanted to insure my legs would not take a beating. The natural thing to do is sign up and Q and let it be known to your other brothers running the BRR that you are having a taper/BRR friendly Q. YHC was challenged by Uncle Jesse if the workout would be enough for the PAX who were not tapering. Away a little banter back and forth YHC challenged Uncle Jesse to attend the workout and we would do the 1100. His answer, “I’m tapering”. Silent laughter exploded on Twitter. When training for a big event you have to know and balance when to drop the hammer and get after it and when to back down and allow your body to recover and be ready to get after it on game day or race day in this case. YHC has certainly bee getting after it in training running over 400 miles in the last 4 months to attempt to get prepared for a challenge I cant fully grasp the difficulty of completing. I’m as ready as I’m going to be and the PAX who posted to my taper Q this morning would not say they were cheated in the workout, except Woodpecker who felt cheated because YHC removed the 2, 3, and 4 from the deck and added an extra 5, 6 and 7 in their place.
Conditions: Nice and cool compared to recent morning. Bambi wondered if the humid mornings were gone now, we shall see.
Disclaimer: Given and added to with a discussion about the purpose of F3. The purpose of F3 is to develop leaders not come up with the hardest workout possible to smoke the PAX. As a leader you need to know when to back off and when to push forward. As a leader you need to understand and know where the people are in life that you are leading. Further more and more specifically the purpose of F3 is to invigorate male community leadership. YHC wants the PAX to be leaders in the community but more importantly YHC wants us men to be leaders in our homes. Leading in the community is worthless if we are not leading at home where it really matters, with the people who see and depend on us day in and day out.
YHC also discussed the fact that several PAX have noticed the physical change YHC has gone through and wanted to be making these same physical transformations. It should be noted that these changes have come over a 16 month period and through a lot of posting at boot camps and runs. I want the PAX to look at the big picture in their physical journey and not think they aren’t making progress fast enough. You put in the work and in time it will come but it will take time so don’t become discouraged, keep pressing forward and pushing the rock.
