Weather was nice for the gloom, about 62 degrees, humidity not too bad. Was excited to see 14 brave pax in the parking lot. Some were warned that they probably should have gone somewhere else. I was excited to see that Capri wasn’t there, then Dugger explained that he WAS suppose to be there! Well, it got to be 5:15, so we moseyed to the flag to begin COP.
COP
SSH IC 21
LBC IC 21
Enough of this, we would get stretched out during the thang. BTW at some time at the beginning of the COP, Capri hit the parking lot on two wheels, oh well, he would find out soon enough.
The Thang:
It has been awhile since the Nan’tan introduced the burpee ladder. I remember him stating that he would do it again, and see how much progress the pax had made. Well that day was today, with or without the Nan’tan (it was without), and without my partner(JudgeJudy), the last time it was done.
Burpee Ladder-
Really needs no explanation. Just a lot of burpees (210 if you finished). Start at the goal line sprint to the 10 yd line, do 20 burpees, sprint to 20 yd line, do 19 burpees, continue to the other goal, stopping every 10 yds and counting down burpees. When you get to the goal line turn around and continue counting down doing burpees. This was a 25 minute AMRAP, it was completed by about half of the pax, TCLAPS to Misled for finishing 1st.
First question from Capri was what is the modification? I think he started with manmakers…..
Mini Block Party-
I asked the pax to partner up, for some accountability coupon work. I stressed the importance of doing each exercise correctly to get maximum benefit and prevention of injury.
Work done by each pax:
100 curls
50 OH presses
50 bent over rows
150 bench presses
return coupons, circle up.
COT

Devotion:
There much temptation already in the world today, and Satan is always striving to create even more. In the face of such temptation, many Christians seek out an “accountability partner” to pray with and help share the burdens that come with doing spiritual warfare. It is good to have a brother we can count on when we are facing temptations. King David was alone the evening that Satan tempted him into adultery with Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11). The Bible tells us we fight a war not of flesh but of the spirit, against powers and spiritual forces who threaten us (Ephesians 6:12).
Knowing we are in a battle against the forces of darkness, we should want as much help as we can gather around us, and this may include making ourselves accountable to another who can encourage us in the fight. Paul tells us that we must be equipped with all the power that God supplies to fight this battle: “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13). We know without a doubt that temptation will come. We should be prepared.
Satan knows our weaknesses, and he knows when we are vulnerable. He knows when we fight with our M, perhaps feeling that someone else might better understand and sympathize. He knows when a child has been punished by his parents and might be feeling spiteful. He knows when things are not going well at work and just where the bar is on the way home. Where do we find help? We want to do what is right in the sight of God, yet we are weak. What do we do?
Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens another.” When is the last time you had a friend call you just to ask how you were doing? When is the last time you called a friend to just talk? Encouragement and moral support from a friend are sometimes the missing ingredients in fighting the battle against Satan. Being accountable to one another can provide those missing ingredients.
