8 PAX came to the Epicenter on this Easter weekend to get better and to have a little fun.

Weather: it was 61 degrees and overcast.

Disclaimer: YHC delivered the appropriate warnings and disclaimers.

WARM-UP

Since YHC enjoyed music – specifically 80’s – we warmed up to “Early in the Morning” by the Gap Band.  We did this:

SSH X 25 IC (in rythm to the Gap Band)

Slow Squats X 20 IC

(Meatloaf arrived at this point, so we started over)

SSH X 15 IC

Imperial Walkers X 20 IC

Tunnel Throughs/Morning Glory Mix X 10 IC

LBAC X 20 (forward and backwards)

THE THANG

ROXANNE – YHC played Roxanne by the Police. PAX in plank position. Every time you hear “Roxanned” you do a Merkin and every time you hear “turn on your red light” you do a Plank Jack.

Whole Lotta Rosie – This song is a tribute to Rosie, who was one of the girlfriends of AC/DC’s lead singer. He liked big women and her detentions were 42-39-56. So, in her honor, we did 42 crunches, 39 Whirley Boys and 56 Flutter kicks.  And, we did 30 mountain climbers between each exercise and repeated until the song was completed.

We mosey’d to the hill for some 11’s.  We ran up the Hill, performed 10 Burpees and ran down the hill and did 1 Smurf Jack, ran back up the hill, did 9 Burpees and then at the bottom, 2 Smurf Jacks….you get the picture.  We completed this exercise.

SUICIDES: We stopped at the tennis courts to do suicides. Standing on the side of the court, we touched every line to the other end.  That’s 1 suicide.  We did 1 suicide, 10 Merkins, another suicide, 10 BB Sit ups, another suicide, 10 Monkey Humpers and one last suicide.

We moseyed to the cage, and got a coupon and gathered around the flag.

FIVE MINUTES OF FUNK – This is a Judge Judy original.  While playing this song, by Whoodini (if you’re from the 80’s you know this, you can hear the song by clicking the YouTube link above), we did BLIMPS – 5 Burpees, 5 Lunges, 5 Imperial Walkers, 5 Merkins, 5 Plank Jacks and 5 Squats.  It’s an AMRAP.  You shoud smell l Ike “funk” at the end of it.

Minutes to win it – 45 seconds of work and 15 seconds of rest – with music, no less (YHC did edit the playlist so it did not contain any F bomgs).  Some of the exercised we did:

Overhead Press

Bent over Rows

Curls

KB Swings

Chest Press

Werkins

Derkins

We are not Worthy

Squat (with Coupon)

Count O Rama

Name O Rama

Announcements: Whestone Project.  There will be a meeting next week at 8:00 at Howard’s to explain this project.  Mud Run at Connie Maxwell on April 9.  Also, keep reading the newsletter. Juggernaught does a great job with it and it has great information. Read it.

Prayers: Smokey has a firefighter who will be laid to rest today. Keep he and his family in your prayers. Refugee’s 2.0. Any and all PAX who are traveling over the holiday weekend and Sping Break. Praise report: YHC’s Mom was released from the hospital last night and she’s on the mend (thanks for all the prayers).

Devotion: YHC read Luke 24: 1 – 12.  At the end of that, Smokey asked if we could watch the Ball Brother’s “It’s About the Cross Video”… So we did.  Good stuff, Smokey. Thanks for the suggestion!

As always, it was a pleasure.  Let’s do it again sometime.
