Conditions:
The field was hella moist after several days of rain. The temperature was a comfortable 69* F, the humidity was close to 1000%, and the lightening was bouncing around the clouds off to the west, somewhere in Georgia all while the mosquitoes did what mosquitoes do.
Warm up:
-
Side Straddle Hops (In Cadence) – 11
Good Mornings (On Your Own) – 10
Little Baby Arm Circles (Forward and Reverse, In Cadence) – 11
Head to the coupon stack and grab a block and then move on over to the field and set the blocks to the side to be used during the 300 portion of the workout. Like the field, the blocks were super saturated. No lightweight blocks to be found in that stack.
The Workout:
Part 1- Last Man Standing
Round 1 – Flutter Kicks.
Yeah, I know. The field is wet.
All PAX assume the position and start kicking the flutters. As soon as you are not able to keep a foot in the air, you are done. Run the perimeter of the field stopping to do a single burpee at each of the 4 corners (this ensures that your front is as wet as your back. No, I didn’t plan it this way). The last man standing is the pax who is able to do 1 more flutter kick than the last guy to drop. The Last Man Standing (LMS) does not have to run the field or do the burpees. Plank fo r the Six.
The Title of LMS for this round goes to Pothole.
Round 2 – Side Straddle Hops
Same format as above. Hop until you can’t hop anymore. As soon as you drop, run the perimeter of the field and do a burpee at each corner. LMS does not have to run or do burpees. Plank for the Six.
The Title of LMS for this round goes to SpecialK.
SpecialK was still doing SSH’s when PotHole and I got back to the starting corner. 250 SSH.
Round 3 – Monkey Humpers
Same format as Rounds 1 and 2. Hump the monkey until either you or the monkey has had enough. You are considered done when you “rest’ in the up or down position for more than 1 second (that’s 00:00:01 in the IPC time format). Once you drop, run the field and do your burpees.
The Title of LMS for this round goes to kobayashi.
This was as much a surprise to me as I am sure it is to you.
Part 2- Race to 300
Now it’s time to do a little block work.
Round 1 – Curls
First PAX to reach 300 reps gets to call “RECOVER”. After each set of 50, set the block to the side and do 10 Big Boi Situps.
The winner for this round is SpecialK.
Take a lap around the football field. No burpees.
Round 2 – Block Bench Press
Yep, the ground is still wet. Yep, we’re doing the same format as the previous round. After ever 50, stop and do 10 Leg Raises. First PAX to complete 300 reps of the BBP’s gets to call “RECOVER”.
The winner for this round is Pothole.
Take another lap around the field. Again, no burpees.
With about a minute left, 10 Cut the Grass (In Cadence) and return the coupons to their resting place and we are done.

2nd BootCamp of the week where the lightening was close enough to see but far enough away that we didn’t hear the thunder.
Great group of PAX present this morning. I was surprised to see so many of the guys from the Epicenter: Iron Mile Variation workout show up for another one of my Q’s. They are either brave or stupid. Let’s go with brave.
Did I mention how wet the field was?
Or the coupons? They must’ve been twice their dry weight. Soaking wet.
Nomad broke his block trying to wring out the excess moisture from it during the curls.
Thanks for another opportunity to lead.
