YHC devised a plan to create partner work into a competition with a real prize.

F3 Terrapin Pro-Am Championship was created.

Idea is to keep most PAX together and work as a team. With PAX like Crayola, though, some modification was needed.

Pro-Am is not the best name for the event, but the idea is to pair the fastest PAX with the not-so-fastest PAX.

The Thang

YHC paired off, as best I could, the fastest PAX with the slowest PAX. One big mistake was made – underestimated Mr. Tan and Swole.

Teams were:

Crayola and Weaver

Brut and Pusher

Abacadaba and Blu

BenGay and Tickle

Challenge is to do as many rounds as possible in given time.

Both PAX must be at station to start work and both must be done to go to next station. One PAX does work the other planks (any form they want, but no knees or belly to the ground).

Station 1 – 10 pull-ups

Station 2 – 20 Swerkins

Station 3 – 30 Leg raises

Station 4 – 40 Air squats

Station 5 – 50 LBCs

Each go ’round you ADD 5 to the total.

First round was basically a warm-up with every PAX having very little trouble completing the exercises. Subsequent rounds started adding up, however, and once you get to 20 pull-ups, then 25… you really knew you were working.

Crayola and Weaver took an early lead and never looked back. As far as I could tell from the end of the line, no one ever passed them up. A certain pair (YHC included) gladly yet solemnly remained last place and even lost ground. Somebody has to be last.

Time finally rang out and Team Tan Crayon kept the lead and finished first.

Both were awarded with a homebrew of their choice.

Trying to be creative sometimes works and sometimes fails. This was a stretch for me, but I think in the end it served it’s purpose and turned out to be a good workout. Next time I won’t underestimate Weaver and his Tan and Swoleness and put myself in as the anchor to Crayola – I’m sure I can hold him back sufficiently. Glad to have my brothers join me in the gloom and in the sweat of an oh so humid August morning.

Good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise,

Tickle

P.S. Aba, enjoy your ale 😉
