The Thang:

The pax created a circle and a deck of cards was placed in the middle for a little deck of pain work!  YHC decided to mix it up a little because after all who wants to do only 4 or less of any exercise and doing the standard “each suit counts for an exercise” was too simple.  The work was as such:

2 or 4 of any suit – 4 Alpo’s and then sprint the length of soccer field, sprint back and do 4 more Alpo’s.

3 of any suit – 3 Burpees and then sprint the length of soccer field do 3 Burpees and then sprint back to the circle.

All other cards drawn resulted in the exercise below doing reps equal to number on card with Jacks = 11, Queen =12, king = 13, Ace = 14.

Spades – Sit ups

Diamonds – Merkins

Clubs – Curls

Hearts – Thrusters

I was impressed with the work today, everyone got after it and a little mumble chatter took place when most were certain that we had drawn at least our 5th 3.  I promised that I did not stack the deck, but can’t say for certain if my son did when I told him to surprise me.

Kudos to several that were out this morning with nagging injuries and doctors orders, but still getting up and modifying as needed.  I think some of the modifying was harder work than what I had planned!

As a believer we need to be teaching our kids the Word and modeling it in our lives.  It is so easy to take a back seat and think they will be alright or the “church” is here for that….  If we do this we are not being the men of God that he has commanded us to be.
