Warm up- head to the coupon cage…..the long way. We lined up for an indian mosey to get the juices flowing. I had planned to go the long, long way, but we saw Tickle roll in. I called an audible, and we stuck to just the long way so Tickle could find us quicker.

The Thang- Blake WOD

U.S. Navy Senior Chief Cryptologic Technician David Blake McLendon, 30, of Thomasville, GA, assigned to Naval Special Warfare Group 2 Support Activity in Norfolk, VA, was killed September 21, 2010, in a helicopter crash during combat operations in the Zabul province of Afghanistan.

100 ft Rifle Carry Coupon Walking Lunges
    30 Box Jumps
    20 Thrusters
    10 Decline Merkins

Everyone finished up and we still had about 10 minutes left on the clock. Since we don’t half ass anything on RED Friday and our abs had been totally neglected, it would only be right to do 100 big boi sit ups OYO. Crowd pleaser.

So this WOD definitely stirred up some IPC flashbacks for me and my legs. Lots of lunges and thrusters. Too soon maybe? Nah. These guys killed it. I despise lunges and thrusters. I try to incorporate things I hate to do. I typically hate them because I suck at them. Maybe if I do more of them, I’ll get better at them. Worth a shot, and I’ll just drag everybody down with me. Foley, however, must LOVE thrusters and lunges. He took off like a lunging gazelle. I’ll have whatever he’s having. BenGay was right on his heels. He didn’t even break his stride in the lunges. Legs of steel. Mary Anne, Weaver, and Tickle were hammering away. I was in the presence of studs. Mary Anne is steady getting better after his time on the IR with his hip. Awesome to watch his improvement. Weaver has been having some back issues as of late. Obviously not this morning. If it was hurting, he sure wasn’t showing it. And Tickle, what can I say, the man has had his heart evaluated recently. He has been told to keep his HR at or under a certain level. The dude shows up to RF! I’m no doctor, but my money is on that he my have exceeded that HR by a tad. Mad props for showing up and getting better Tickle. We had plenty of time to get some more work in, so lets blast the abs. Who needs an Ab Mary? How about 100 big bois instead? It was my pleasure to lead this group of studs this morning. U.S. Navy Senior Chief Cryptologic Technician David Blake McLendon would have been proud of their effort.

Southern Belle is hanging up…..
