F3 Greenwood

YHC waited to sign up for this one until yesterday afternoon trying to give more PAX opportunities to Q, but there were no other takers. In light of the emphasis on running across F3Greenwood recently, YHC decided to forego the coupons and try and keep the heart rate up throughout the BC this morning. YHC pulled up at 5:55 and there was no one in sight despite HC’s from 5 PAX the night before. YHC began to have the internal debate of do I go back to bed or do the workout on my own. But, never fear, BabyBlu pulled up and we thought we were going to go at it alone but at 5:59 the rest of the crowd rolled in.

Weather – winds starting to pick up from Florence but it was not humid. In fact, it was so not humid, the grass was bone dry for the first time in months. Which makes it nice on the feet because no one likes wet socks.

Disclaimer given and it went down this like.

The Thang

We moseyed to the pull-up bar and partnered up. PAX 1 was performing either pull-ups or hangs while PAX 2 bearcrawled to the flag pole and ran back. When PAX 2 returned, the PAX flip-flopped roles until each PAX completed pull-ups or hangs 3 times. (More on this later.)
We then gathered in the parking lot and 5 merkin Indian ran to the ampitheater at Lander. (Along the run, we lost 2C as his knee was giving him fits).

Ampitheater for partner work

Jump Up
Starting at the bottom, PAX 1 jumped all the way to the top while PAX 2 held a plank. After reaching the top, PAX 1 ran down and PAX 2 jumped all the way while PAX 1 planked. Each time a PAX came back down, the jumps started from one step higher until as team, they reached the top. This was repeated one time.

Run Up
Starting at the bottom, PAX 1 sprinted all the way to the top while PAX 2 held a plank. After reaching the top, PAX 1 ran down and PAX 2 sprinted all the way while PAX 1 planked. Each time a PAX came back down, the jumps started from one step higher until as team, they reached the top. This was repeated one time.
At The Top
As a team, 100 merkins, 200 air squats, and 300 LBC’s were performed.

We enjoyed a SLOW mosey back to the shell enjoying some quality 3rd F along the way getting back at 6:00.

NMS
-There was much grumbling about the distance of the bearcrawl, especially from the elder statesman of the group, but YHC said to get to work. However, while doing pull-ups and hangs, YHC realized the distance it was (it didn’t seem that far in my brain when I was writing the plan) so an audible was called to the light pole on the left. On the last time out, BabyBlu requested that YHC bearcrawl all the way to the flagpole which was done because I was taught to always respect my elders.
-2C had to drop out during the Indian Run due to knee pain. Hope you feel better man.
-Southern Belle, who had HC’d the night before, texted YHC telling him he pulled a muscle in his neck and wasn’t going to be able to make it. Hope you recover as well.
-YHC shared Titus 2: 11-14 that talks about the sacrifice that Jesus made for us while doing good on this earth. It was a challenge to us as Christ-followers to be willing to sacrifice something to do good. It’s easy to serve when it doesn’t cost us anything and to the person receiving the blessing of the service, it doesn’t matter. But when we serve and have to sacrifice something, be that time, money, etc., it means so much more to Him. So, seek opportunities to serve.

Until next time,

BenGay
