Yet again another week when Hustle was closed because it wasn’t a sure thing that the gate to the track would be unlocked. After 3 years of working out at the Shipyard 4-5 times a week, the pax of F3Greenwood have proven that the care and responsibility for the AO would be evident. It would seems as though there are some in the hierarchy of EHS feel otherwise, or at least they do not realize their actions are restricting us access. Either way, UNLOCK THE GATE!!!!!!!
Just another sultry August morning in The Wood. WAIT! Nope, not even close! A low pressure front moved in for the weekend and made our Monday morning quite tolerable and enjoyable. The cool air was a wonderful respite from the dog days of summer.
Most of the guys were already out and moving for their specific training, a few got to here me call the “1 minute” mark as I was jumping out of my ride and preparing for a good old fashioned OnB. There were sprinters, long haulers, tempo guys, fellas just looking for a mosey with some good convo and a Rucker & his dog also made there Monday a little bit better. At 0600 we all returned for the COT and subsequent announcements and prayer. It was good to get to talk with some of the guys I’ve been missing at boot camps due to their marathon training afterwards. It was here that the strangeness of the gloom took over when a cab (1 of not very many) decided to pull into our inhabited parking lot. It first stopped well short our group, but slowly over several stops made its way eerily close to where the last remnants of our crew was standing. No one needed a ride. No one called for a ride. Hopefully business will pick up for the fellow whom seemed to be hoping, wishing even that one of us might need a ride ……… somewhere. Alas after several minutes, when no propositions were made, the cabby drove off into the sunrise in search of a rider that may not even know yet that they need a ride. Better luck next time Mr. Cabby. Thanks to all the pax that posted. See you in the Gloom!
