I was pleased to see there was no rain falling this morning when I awoke, at 4:30. Wondered if that would change as the clocked continued ticking…fortunately it did not. However, upon arriving at the Shipyard I quickly learned it must have been raining somewhere in Greenwood. I heard the voice of 2C, obviously talking on the phone with someone about making up excuses to not post. One that I found worth including in this BB was “well, do you sweat when you workout? Yeah, me too. So who cares if it’s raining…we’re gonna be wet anyway.” I was impressed. He was not going to let that young Pax, (as it turns out it was Bologna), get out of posting just because some rain drops may or may not fall. Good work 2C and good work Bologna for succumbing to the EH pressure.
Weather: perfect
Disclaimer: Given
COP: haven’t done that in quite sometime.
THE THANG:
Some other pax and I had been discussing whether or not a DORA could be done, as an individual, in the slotted time of a normal w/o. We decided it could. So, I wanted to test it. Here is how it went
100 Squat Thrusters
200 Merkins
300 LBC
The rule I set was, you have to complete at least 10% of the said number. You can do more than 10% as long as you are not “resting” for more than 5-8 seconds. If this occurred you get up and run to the top of the CM to perform 10 Mtn climbers (count 1 leg) and come back down to finish up said work. I emphasized keeping good form. Locking elbows on the p/u and thrusters, crunching the belly tight for the LBC. Form most definitely matters…if you’re trying to get better.
When a pax finished up he was to help the guy next to him. Most pax finished up on their own.
A few had enough time left to complete some self induced block work but pretty much, the time was gone.
Returned the blocks and circle up!

- I wasn’t sure Tickle was actually gonna show this time…but he did! And he killed it. I can see a difference in him, his physique. He’s been working hard for sometime now and it’s paying off. (Little side note about this. I think most of us realize no matter how hard we try to keep our body’s looking good they will one day give out. And working to keep them looking good should NEVER take precedent over what really matters, like family, relationships, etc. Having said that, it is nice to see the ‘tone’ setting in after so much hard work.)
- The fastest time today was somewhere around 32 minutes or so. That, of course, was Beano. Sour was close 2nd
- Everyone pushed it. But some fellas need to step up and begin grabbing barnacle blocks only. Dig through the pile until you get one. I wish we could have 6-8 of those at every AO?
