F3 Greenwood

Conditions: Awesome! (loving this cool air)

YHC is getting back on the Q schedule but a little slow to get back on the backblast schedule. So, apologies for the lateness of this post. There’s another coming in a few that is even later than this one.

Either way, I’ve been spending a little more time in the gloom these days, and it has been great joining fellow PAX as we log serious miles on these Greenwood streets.

For the route, YHC thought a return to the simplicity of Friday hills was a good idea. So, the bowl and spur were an easy choice. Several guys went freestyle, but three of us took to the hills.

The Thang (The Bowl and Spur):
Head to the Cambridge and run to the top of the bridge.
Turn around and head down the hill.
Turn on Charles St. (The Spur) and run to the top of the hill.
Turn and head back to Cambridge
Head to the back toward Montague on Cambridge and turn around at the top
Repeat as many laps as time allows
Head back to the fountain

We were named. We were counted. And we prayed.

NMM:

I don’t provide much in the way of a devotional at the end of my Q’s, but I thought I’d say a little something here for those of you who will read this.

Like many, I don’t often pay attention to how fragile this life can be. And, If I’m being honest, I probably don’t appreciate the life that I have nearly as much as I should.

With some of the serious disasters hitting our nation in recent weeks, I’m reminded of how quickly the things we hold close can be stripped away—and, ultimately, how little control we sometimes have over such outcomes. At the same time, I’m reminded that as disasters strike miles away, there are many around us—in our own communities and maybe right next to us—that are experiencing personal disasters that are just as fierce and life threating. Their plight isn’t covered, ad nauseam, by the 24-hour news outlets, but it’s very real.

Knowing who these people are isn’t always easy. Sometimes it’s impossible. But I write all of this because I’d like to challenge each of us to ask one simple question of our neighbor.

“How can I help you?” Then listen. Just listen.

Until next time.
