Somethings just well together! Eggs and bacon, peanut butter and jelly, John Stockton and Karl Malone, cookies and milk, you get the point! Well, YHC likes man-makers (the burpees mean cousin) and I love the amphitheater (a mere .5 mile jaunt from Terrpain.) But, the issue was how to get the coupon effectively from Terrapin to the Bearcat amphitheater. A half mile block walk is a downer and a block jog is less than stellar also, so the partner leapfrog was the ticket of combining coupons and the amphitheater and it made for a combination that wont be forgotten and will be tried again!
No Warm Up: The extended mosey would suffice.
The Thang: One partner rifle carries (overhead carry) the coupon while the other partner runs for 35 seconds and then stops and does merkins until the rifle carrying partner arrives. The coupon is exchanged, rinse and repeat till arrival at the amphitheater. This kept the heart rate up, the heart rate would not come down after arrival either!
Next was a simple Dora 1-2-3-2-1 at the amphitheater.
100 man-makers, 200 goblet squats, 300 curls, 200 LBC’s and 100 KB swings. While one man works at the bottom the other man by run up the steps to the top and completes five merkins before returning to the bottom.
Then leap frog back to Terrapin and finish with some planks, whirley boys, and deep squats before 7:00 am arrived. Alpo came in from a 10 miler and closed out as well!
This was exhausting for all! No doubt about it. Just a ton of work and the legs and lungs were smoked in particular. Encouragement was heard, but mumblechatter was at a minimum. If you got time to talk you ain’t working hard enough! A speaker and some tunes would have been nice!
Great work by all men! Privilege to lead as always!
Prayers for MeterMaid’s friend. Doogie’s friend Jeffery, and for Lego’s boo-boo which was covered with a appropriate Dora the Explorer Band-Aid!
Matt 6:44 was the subject for prayer and devotion.
