13 pax……yes you read that right, 13 pax kicked it into high gear this morning at #Hustle. YHC had a couple of plans worked out pending the weather. Thankfully, a clear sky greeted the pax but humidity is already in full effect. Due to the almost #problematic numbers, the decision was made to keep this completely on the track and field. Getting there ,however, would prove to be quite the challenge as all the usual gates were locked down. #problematic! No worries! YHC was in the process of throwing out a modification when Cobra Kai mentioned another possible entrance. The pax were all happy, especially Sugar (sporting his fancy running shoes), that the practice field would be avoided. Thanks for the save Cobra Kai! Anyway, eventually we all made it to the track and then the running went a little something like this…….

Disclaimer (actually given before Cobra Kai saved the day)

Warm-up with 3 laps around the track or until Q called line up on the goal line.

Strides(100 yards) x 6 (Something like this: Run from goal line picking up speed to the 30, sprint to the 30 on the opposite side of field then slowly back it down to the goal line) Approxomately 30 seconds recovery given between strides.

The Main Thang

Continuing the pyramid theme from Terrapin Saturday……..

Pax go hard for 400, 800, 1600, 800, 400.

400 recovery walk or jog between hard efforts.

Mosey over the river and through the woods back to the Shovel Flag for Cooldown

(#Cobains for the terrible explanation trying to lead this off! Must have been something going on with the Q’s today because sounds like Meatloaf had similar issues at Terrapin. Hopefully, Uncle Buck avoided this same issue. Hmmmm….we all posted at Terrapin Saturday.)

Great work by the #Hustle pax today! Nice having a large group with a good mix of Hustle faithful and some new faces! Keep pushing men……track work is what you make of it. Give a good hard effort and you will be rewarded in the future whether a rabbit chase, 5K, half marathon or running around at a boot camp.  A couple of lessons learned by the pax today. Keep track of your laps and don’t start too fast! Great effort by all……it was an honor to Q!
