F3 Greenwood

Conditions: Awesome! (until)

Earlier in the week, Flossy asked if anyone could take his Hills Q on Friday. He needed extra space in his schedule for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity (what could that be?). I’d been itching to try a new route (new to me), so I raised my hand.

As YHC stepped from the car, the breeze was rolling and the predicted rain was nowhere in sight. The rest of the crew rolled in and I explained the convoluted route that I’d mapped on Strava a few weeks ago. After my explanation, Thumper laughed (maybe he shook his head) and said “I’ll be back by six.”

Disclaimer: Given

The Thang = Hills-a-plenty
1. Run from the fountain down Court Ave. toward Phoenix
2. Left on Phoenix to Seaboard Ave.
3. Seaboard Ave. to Main St.
4. Main St. to Lander Blvd. (technically Crews St.)
5. Down Lander Blvd. to Willson St.
6. Up Wilson St. to Gracemont Dr.
7. Gracemont Dr. to Grace St. (via Janeway)
8. Grace St. to Durst Ave. (get rained on)
9. Durst Ave. to Cambridge, to Main St. (get drenched)
10. Back to the Fountain (slosh around until everyone returns)

The rain started around Grace Street and it was a soggy run up and down the remaining hills. Still, it was another great stroll through The Wood while those in cars, presumably, wondered why there were crazy people running in the rain.

Until next week, here’s to my fellow Rain Dogs.
