Red Friday was cancelled because 24 pax (some of them devoted Red Friday participants, including the AOQ for Red Friday) were out of town running the hills of NC and Virginia in the #BRR (Blue Ridge Relay). YHC thought about it, and decided to see if he could drum up some interest in The Wood PAX that weren’t running. We had a total of 5 PAX post. YHC offered a couple of WOD workouts- the PAX selected the WOD named in honor of Chris Kyle- American Sniper. After the first round, several were wishing we had picked a different one. The WOD consists of:
40 Kettle bell swings
40 Box jumps
40 thruster
40 decline merkins
3 rounds for time.
The results are as follows:
Baby Blu 27:38
Polly 29:28
Pegleg 29:47
Thumper 30:29
Piddler 30:31
Some of the PAX did modify on a few of the exercises but a tremendous amount was done by all. It was exciting that we were able to open up RED FRIDAY and get some work done. It was a pleasure working out with such a fine group of men.
A little about Chris Kyle:
For those of you that do not know Chris he was a Navy SEAL Sniper that conducted four combat tours in Iraq. During Chris’s four tours he totaled 160 confirmed kills. Chris was so deadly on the battlefield and in his area of operation that the enemy nicknamed him the “Devil of Ramadi”. Chris was wounded twice and was involved in six IED attacks. To learn more about Chris’s life you can read his book titled “American Sniper”.
