Last Thursday I fartsacked because every now and again this lazy demon in me rises up and suppresses my desire to get better with my band of brothers. It’s a terrible thing. Fortunately it doesn’t happen very often. Well, per usual I get a text from Capri…”Hey man, where were you this morning?!” Crapdarnit, don’t ask. He tells me it was a really good workout, ’bout made him splash, and I should not have missed it. Dang it! We will do that one again sometime soon…well, fortunately for 6 lucky pax soon came sooner than I reckoned. Turns out, only 2 of the pax today (Flossy and Duggar) were not there when this w/o was originally given.

Air was a cool 74*, not too humid either.

Disclaimer was forgotten by YHC!

COP

25 Burpees

25 Squat Thrusters

25 Big Boy Sit-ups

25 Kettle Bell Swings

Not your typical COP but very fitting for the Fury scene as this AO is supposed to be a notch above the others in its ability to bring fatigue and muscle failure. After the COP YHC moved right into the THANG and Capri abruptly says, “Hey, we’re not gonna take a break here?!” What?! Did y’all break here last week?? “No but Meter Maid had to explain what we were doing next.” The instructions had already been given and each pax understood what was coming BUT out of respect for the brute called Capri Meter Maid gave us a 10 count. By the way, Duggar brought the music this morning. Nobody complained. In fact, I heard more than half the pax at some point during the w/o singing along. Sour said, “when Skynard’s ‘Simple Man’ came on, that pushed me through!” For those who care, this was Pandora’s ‘Red Hot Chili Peppers’ channel.

THE THANG

5 Rounds of each:

Pull Ups — 10

Dips — 20

Merkins — 30

American Hammers — 40

Curls — 50

Each pax completed this w/o before time. However, it became painfully apparent that YHC was quickly becoming the 6. That’s how it ended too. Well, someone has to do it! It also became apparent that this was a competition between Capri and Pacer. YHC decided to throw a little twist on last week’s w/o by replacing the Reverse Crunches with Merkins. A real crowd pleaser! The 4 pax who were there the week before all agreed, the Merkins took this to a new level, especially following or coming before the 20 Dips. The whole thing was just tough. 850 Reps, almost exclusively upper body. I think Meter Maid said something about honoring the La. fallen police officers and incorporating this into a RED w/o. I second that emotion!!

This was just a fun morning. It felt good, the body was beat down but the esprit de corps was high!

Quick word from the Word: Lamentations 3:21-23 tells us of God’s unending and abiding love for His people. His desire to protect us and bless us. His strength to keep us peaceful even in the midst of life’s storms. Great passage…one for the memory bank!

BRR is NEXT WEEK!
