F3 Greenwood

YHC rolled up early to Terrapin this morning and discovered Weaver and Chubbs waiting patiently – and stretching – for the workout to start. YHC got the nod late the night before to step in as Q for UncleJesse who had just completed a Spartan Beast. As the clock rolled closer to Go Time, YHC, knew it would just be the Three Amigos for a recon of Restrepo.

Restrepo was an outpost in the Korengal Valley of Afghanistan, an area known as the deadliest place on earth. Juan Restrepo was part of the first Army unit assigned to establish the outpost. He was killed very early on along with many other Americans. There are a couple of great documentaries on the outpost that are worth checking out.

THis workout pays homage to that deadly place and was the workout that YHC led when Roach posted for the first time. YHC thought a hint to this would encourage Roach to post at Terrapin, but no dice.

Here’s what we did:

  • Farmer’s carry 2 coupons about 200m to start point
  • Mosey with one coupon to next power pole (about 200 feet)
  • 15 KB Swings
  • 15 Goblet Squats
  • 15 OH Press
  • Mosey with coupon back to first pole and repeato
  • Mosey with coupon back to far pole and repeato (3 rounds of work total)
  • Lunge walk to first pole
  • Bear crawl back to far pole
  • 3 more rounds of work (15 KB Swings, 15 Goblet Squats, 15 OH Press) with mosey between power poles each time
  • 25 Manmakers at first pole

We still had a few minutes left so we added in some flava:

  • 5 Pull-Ups, 10 Box Jumps, 15 Dips
  • Repeato
  • UncleJesse Special
    • 15 Big Boy Sit-Ups, 15 American Hammers, 15 V-Ups
    • Another round of 14 each
  • Farmer’s Carry coupons back to the stack (about 200m)

Count, Name, BoM

There is a lot of stuff going on in the lives of the pax in F3Greenwood. This thing we call life is rarely simple and never easy. This is what makes F3 such a powerful thing. It binds us together for support, accountability. But it cannot and will not work effectively when we seek refuge in our old habits and coping mechanisms.

Kobayashi recently called his own bluff with this and reached out for some accountability. #TClaps brother. That is a bold and often difficult step to take. It’s in our secrets that our sickness lies. We must actively lean on our brothers to combat falling back into the ways of the #SadClown.

We all need each other, all day, every day. Be the hand that  both reaches for help and is there to help. We must stick together in order to have the impact necessary on our families and our community.

Aye.
