NMMS:  The weather was not ideal for running, but 7 dedicated PAX gave it a try anyway (what happened to Spring?) Our NEW Fountain Head AOQ, Corn Cob was in the house with the run flag on his first official day of duty. (Side Note: Thanks Dixie Chick for your run Q leadership over the past year.) It was good to see all the PAX in attendance, but especially nice to see Refugee and Crash since they don’t get to post to runs as often as the rest of us.

Corn Cob was supposed to be taking a self-imposed “run-break”, that was until he was crowned the new Fountain Head AOQ. He said he was going to take it easy and just run with me. I’m like “your pace or mine?” Thankfully it was more mine than his. Corn cob ran with me and got me to my first sub 12 min/mile run since my knee surgery (11:27/mi to be exact!) Thanks Corn Cob for the motivation and encouragement.

This brings up a good point, if you want to run faster, run with a faster runner! Find someone fast and keep up! I know Corn Cob was “taking it easy” today, but he pushed me, and it worked!
