Announcements- Saturday workout is at Fury. YHC is on deck to Q. No one has signed up yet to Q the 2.0 workout. At this point, 2C informs us that he doesn’t think he has any kids. That’s handy info to have 2C when you’re filling out that new benefit package at work!
Prayer requests/praise reports- 2C is progressing in his career with the addition of benefits. Congrats 2C! Tootsie Roll quickly said “Dude you’ve been coming to F3 without insurance??” Let that sink in a minute! Lemon and family dealing with multiple family members fighting cancer. Encinoman having eye surgery today(not mentioned in COT).
BOM- prayed it up
NMM- It was chillier this morning than previous mornings. Perfect weather to get the IronPAX done. It was 5:14 and it was just me, 2C, and Alpo. Where were all the HC’s? By the time we got to the coupon cage, Beano and Encinoman made their way through the darkness to the soccer field. As we finished setting up the field, Duggar comes in on 2 wheels and joins us. Several PAX were there to beat their previous score from earlier in the week. For some of us, it was our first taste of the pain. 2C decided to stick with the Hansen WOD. There was work getting thrown down! That was 30 minutes of pure suck. Note to self: do the IronPax early in the week and not the day after Fury. My roasted shoulders were no match for the hand release merkins. It was 10 at a time at first and quickly ended at 3 to 5 at a time. 2C sounded like he was giving all he had this morning on the Hansen WOD. He tried to initiate some mumblechatter, but I was gassed and couldn’t get a word out. Good work 2C. Everybody gave it 100%, and this is how we finished up at the buzzer:
Duggar- 600
Beano- 551
Alpo- 549
Southern Belle- 434
Encinoman- 419
Tootsie Roll- 391
2C (Hansen WOD)- 32:07 min
Today, we worked to honor Army Captain Kimberly Nicole Hampton. She was piloting an OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter on Jan 2, 2004 when she was shot down outside of Fallujah. She was the first female military pilot to be shot down and killed. Read more about her here: http://www.ourupstatesc.info/remembering-the-upstates-fallen-soldiers.php
Smokin work men!! True beasts among us! There has been a lot of mumblechatter in the twittersphere about the questionable scores coming in. I have tried to use that to motivate me to push that much harder rather than discourage me. I knew going in that I will not win this competition. My goal has been to race myself and catch the guy next to me that is smoking me. It’s me against me. I have to be better than the me from yesterday. I have enjoyed this challenge and the places that it has pushed me to. And I have done it beside the best of the best. AYE!
Southern Belle is hanging up…..
