F3 Greenwood

There seemed to be a consensus among the six PAX gathered for #REDFriday that this workout to honor the 18 killed and 73 wounded in Mogadishu in 1993 was the hardest hero WOD to date. Judging by some of the Twitter banter afterward, that may be accurate. This would be a long one so we didn’t have time to waste.

Conditions

  • Painful and sweaty

Disclaimer

  • Not professional. Sugar didn’t have on any red, so 5 burpees, a little background on Mogadishu and away we go.

NakedMan Moleskin

  • Not much else can be said about that workout.
  • The squat/lunge combo proved to be a fan favorite. Lots of grunts/growls/expletives could be heard during that part of the workout.
  • #TClaps to all of the PAX out there today. It appeared on more than one occasion that a guy could break out and leave everyone behind. Something about the reason we were there today kept all of the PAX tightly knit in both time and brotherhood.
  • During the merkin sets Sugar noted he was glad he had 100 thrusters to look forward to since we hadn’t really worked our legs yet.
  • Somehow Spud made his way over to Stoney Point to introduce some #SadClowns to the F3 way of #GettingBetter. YHC was glad to see a tweet shortly after to confirm that he was still alive.
  • At one point, YHC thought the “If you die doing the workout it will be named after you” clause would be invoked. That was one painful WOD.
  • As always, it is an honor and a privilege to share #REDFriday with the men of F3. If you are unaware, RED stands for Remember Everyone D That is why we wear RED. 5 burpee penalty for every guy not wearing RED. Not to punish them or the other PAX. YHC uses that time while doing those burpees to remember one of my fallen comrades – of which there are far too many.

Great work today, men! Jug out.

Aye!
