After work was completed I gave a recap of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Marc Small and also spoke about his fiance. She started a foundation “Small Steps in Speech” this foundation helps children with speech and communication disabilities. Read more about her Foundation Here
My point in bringing this up was to point out that through every tragedy good can come of it. It be something as big as starting a Foundation that touches thousands of lives or something as small as you helping 1 person that’s going through the same tragedy that you experienced. The good may not come out of it tomorrow or next year, but I believe at some point in our life we can turn all tragedies into something good with the right drive and outlook.

NMS:

* Great to see 2 new faces to RED Friday, Leaner and Crawfish. Of course Crawfish is close to being a new face to F3. Great work guys and hope to see y’all back next week.
* Naturally Pacer and Duggar are out front setting the pace, but during the 2nd 1,000 M Run I catch up with a walking Pacer. Thinking he may have a “locked up calf” I ask, “you alright brother” he responds “Oh yeah, I’m just waiting for Duggar, he had to drop a load.” So I passed by knowing they would catch up pretty quick. (Not the end of the story)
* So the Paul Harvey to this story (the rest of this story for you young whippersnappers who haven’t heard of Paul Harvey)… Duggar and Pacer catch up and Duggar is giving us a warning not to go into the port-a-john because there’s crap all in the floor and goes on to tell us its now on his shoe. Of course I’m thinking maybe he barely stepped in a little pile and it’s not that bad. Unfortunately, I’d be wrong. We get back the the work area and begin to do box jumps and it quickly becomes apparent that Duggar must have went knee deep in the poop because the smell is horrific. So much so that Sugar spots a table that had been moved down the path and ventures over there to complete his box jumps. As he’s walking away he lets Duggar know that he brought the smell with him. Of course in a very sympathetic way as could only be expected from Sugar.
* The name of this WOD is of course the last name of the Hero we honored and in no way is an accurate description of the WOD. This one tested you as most of them do and we’re all better for it! Great work guys.

As always…
Until the next Q,
MM is out
