F3 Greenwood

YHC was joined by a couple other daring pax not afraid to take on the week’s toughest workout in Greenwood at RED Friday. Each week we honor those killed in action serving our great nation. Today, YHC opted for a new WOD for us here in Greenwood. It proved to be a muscle pumper and a great end to a tough week of workouts around the region.

It was, of course, hot and humid, but we got after it anyway.

Here’s what we did:

“Jason”

  • 100 squats
  • 15 pullups
  • 15 dips
  • 75 squats
  • 30 pullups
  • 30 dips
  • 50 squats
  • 45 pullups
  • 45 dips
  • 25 squats
  • 60 pullups
  • 60 dips

That is 250 squats, 150 pullups and 150 dips for those keeping score at home.

Times:

  • Ben-Gay – 39:23
  • Juggernaut – 39:34
  • Hulk – 39:35

While the heart rate never got super elevated, the muscle fatigue was very real. YHC’s arms still feel like massive balloons. The end of the workout is tough because there is less recovery time for the arms due to the declining number of squats. And, let’s face it, no one can do that many pullups without breaking them up. It was sets of 3 at the end for YHC, but Ben-Gay and Hulk crushed them.

The workout is in honor of SO1 (Special Operator First Class, for the non-Navy folks out there) Jason Lewis, who was part of SEAL Team 10. He was killed in action just south of Baghdad, Iraq on 7/6/2007 when a homemade bomb found its way into a Humvee in which Lewis was traveling. Fair winds and following seas, shipmate.

Tomorrow, we get to honor someone else – our friend and brother Terry “Rocky” Jones. Let’s pack the Epicenter in his honor and wear orange. We have designed a special workout to honor Rocky and would like to see as many faces as possible. Old, new or FNG – just get there. There will be a special time of prayer for Rocky and his family at the end. We would be honored by your presence. Other areas will also be doing the workout along with us. Show up and bring a friend. Aye.
